Donations

There is some confusion when it comes to our donation area, I'll briefly explain.

The donation link to donate to Child's Play (in the Flares that Care name) DIRECTLY goes to Child's Play, not our Paypal or any middle man, however, donations are only accepted DURING the event. Donations sent before the start or after the end of the event WILL NOT be in our name. During the event you can donate here.[donate.childsplaycharity.org]

The other available types of donations are monetary donations to pay for our VPS and website, the donation link will always be available and exclusively used to pay for our VPS / site hosting. You can donate for web hosting / VPS here.[www.paypal.com]

Finally, item donations will be used to pay for keys and crates in a possible finale unbox, and otherwise will be used as prize packages for the top 3, 5, or 10 donators dependent on the amount of item donations we recieve. You can donate to the item account here.

Hello everyone, thank you all for the continued support, we can't thank our community, supporters, staff, and contributors enough for helping us get to this point.

As we progress, we want to update everyone on our status, as to be open and able to be critiqued by you all, so we can improve as a whole and create an enjoyable and most importantly profitable experience to the TF2 Community and Child's Play.

Throughout our progression from a simple, small teamed, 3-days-of-planning-worth jumble of a mess back in December, to a several hundred strong, multi-community supporting, large teamed charity event is truly remarkable. However there are always shortcomings during these leaps of progress.

Before I go on to explain, I'd like everyone to know we aren't doing this for anything other than for gratification for supporting Child's Play Charity. There is no intent for us to gain profit from this, publicity, power or control, or anything other than simple selfless charity work.

As we've developed, we've seen how certain events are enjoyed by the community, how to communicate with large groups of people, and generally create a strong bond in our group. However, as we develop we also see how certain things can affect us in ways not desired. Sometimes we miss-communicate with members of the TF2 community, or simply within our line of staff, but we need to remember no matter how we may present ourselves as individuals, we're supporting Flares that Care, not the founders of it, the staff of it, the sponsors of it, no, we do it for the community of FTC, the cause of raising money for charity, and enjoying TF2 together.

Sometimes these issues continue without people truly understanding this, causing some not to want to associate themselves with us. To those that have complaints or suggestions, please tell us. For myself and most if not all of the staff, we want nothing but to provide everyone with the most enjoyable experience, and without a doubt understand we aren't perfect, and your critiques or complaints can help us grow as a community and create the best possible events. Any and all issues can be directed to snoven or chris, who can be found in the admin list in the group.

We all want to communicate these as one common goal, simply to raise money for charity, so please keep this at heart.

A featured YouTubers section on the flaresthatcare.org site is under development, as a few of our supporting YTs have expressed their support by creating short videos explaining our event to their crowds, which is grealty appreciated and encouraged to others wanting to do the same. Videos created can be linked to snoven and featured on the site.

Our group has neared 1000 members and our event is less than 3 weeks away, congratulations to everyone for their success in their support.

For our Highlander Showmatch, Kids Next Door (KND) and Menace to Society (mTs) will be having a 3 map match on koth_viaduct, pl_upward, and cp_process
