It pains me to bring this news to all of you, though I'm sure many have already heard in one way or another.

After much consideration, Elite Zombie Fraggers has decided to discontinue hosting servers in Zombie Panic! Source.

This was especially hard to do because of the fond memories that EZF has with its members in ZP:S.. afterall, we were born in this game.

This was no fault of any member nor leader.
We could not have asked for a more dedicated group of Administrators.
No group of individuals may ever compare in kindness and skill to those whom EZF let into its family.

Each and every one of you members earned your place within our team.

EZF and everyone who enjoyed our servers regularly will not be forgotten.

Issues; Invalid Steam UserID Ticket & No Steam Logon.

Recently, it seems that players have been getting disconnections from servers throughout ZP:S due to perhaps two of the most common Steam errors that seem to happen on occasion..

It's practically Steam tradition now; these error's will get you.
Below I'll list the two errors and what you can do to fix them.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Invalid Steam UserID Ticket

THE FIX:

Close any running games.
Close Steam.
Open your Steam directory folder.
Delete the ClientRegistry.blob file in the Steam folder.
Re-open Steam and let it update.

After Steam is finished updating, you will be good to go.
Launch ZP:S and hop into our server to start playing without disconnection.

No Steam Logon

This Steam error sucks.
It's caused by the expiration of your authentication that has been sent to Steam servers.

I'm sure the reason behind the expiration will be due to one or more of the following:

[1] An unstable and disruptable connection through your router.
[2] An unsuccessful connection to the server because of your Firewall.
[3] Third-party Anti-cheat software may be in use, client-side or server-side.

THE FIX #1:

Hold in these three keys; Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
In your Windows Task Manager, right-click on Steam.exe.
Set the Priority Level to either of these: Above Normal or High.
Open ZP:S or maximize it if it's already running, and join a server.

You should no longer be disconnected from the server with the No Steam Logon error. Note that changing the Priority Level of Steam.exe may affect computer performance.

(or)

THE FIX #2:

If you have a Third-party Anti-Cheat program running, either client-side or server-side, shut it down.

Do not use a Third-party Anti-Cheat program in a VAC secured server.

(or)

THE FIX #3:

If you have a Firewall active, open up your Control Panel and find your Windows Firewall settings. You may turn it off now and start playing.

If you don't want to turn your Windows Firewall off, do this instead:
Open your Control Panel, open Windows Firewall settings.
Look for an 'Exceptions' tab or settings for it.
You will notice a list of all programs which are allowed to run through your Firewall. Make sure Steam is added to this list.
In the 'Exceptions' tab, you should be able to 'Add port'. Click it and enter in the two fields. For 'Name', just use "Steam" or "EZF Server". For 'Port', enter in 27015. Confirm and exit. Go, play.

(or)

THE FIX #4:

If your connection to the Steam servers is being blocked by your router, which may be the case with some brands, you must bypass it.
Unplug your Ethernet cable from your Router, unplug your Router from your Modem, and then plug your Ethernet cable from your PC to your Modem to make a direct connection.

Please note that you will have many angry siblings if you disconnect the router. (It will kill your wireless connection.)

P.S.

If all else fails, I have heard that an entire Steam re-install may be the solution. If you're considering this, make sure you back up all of your game data, files, screenshots, demos, maps, models, and/or anything else you want to retain.
