The Eszett, often called "sharp s", is a letter of the German alphabet, which got repressed and fell into oblivion. Therefore, it's often used wrong or on the wrong place, although it is a rare letter.

Since ages, people fight for or against this special letter, also for its capital form.
In 2008, the upper-case letter of the Eszett was finally added as a Unicode character with the number U+1E9E.
