Duty Callers 13

Once upon a time in a Halo 2 lobby long ago, a group of kids came together. This "clan" group stands as their legacy.

In 2003, a group of Halo 2 players came together to make a machinima "studio". Machinima was all the rage due to Red vs. Blue, so all the cool kids wanted to be like them. Eventually, one of us managed to get our hands on a capture card, and Duty Callers 13 was born.

The name is cringe to the nth degree. Call of Duty was a pretty cool game, so we flipped the word order and BAM. Original name do not steal. The "13" makes it sound cool.

Regardless, we made our own videos. We were all kids, ages 11 to 16. None of us knew any of the basic production methods, so we just did whatever we wanted when people were online. We're not going to tell you much about our finished projects. You can imagine what they were like.

But this steam group doesn't exist to carry the torch of Duty Callers 13. This steam group is its legacy, and its grave. The videos were amateur, but the friendships are eternal.

But, we can't be those kids in 2003 anymore.

We've grown up. We have jobs, house, we pay taxes, and some of us are married. We aren't the kids playing Halo 2 for over 80 hours a week. We aren't Duty Callers 13.

So this group will exist so long as the memories do. It's a snapshot, a picture in time, of moments long ago.

So long Duty Callers 13. We love you, and thanks for all the memories.
