Dunning-Kruger Effect

A cognitive bias in which low-ability individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly assesing their ability due to incompetentence, allowing them to believe that they are exceptionally skilled.

This lack of awareness is attributed to their lower level of competence robbing them of the ability to critically analyse their performance, leading to a significant overestimation of themselves.
