Dr. Hakim is the deuteragonist in It Takes Two. He is a self-proclaimed expert on love who determined to fix May and Cody's relationship, due to the wish made by their daughter, Rose.

Dr. Hakim is a red book with the title "Book of Love" and his name printed on his cover and spine in yellow. Intricate designs are also printed in yellow on his body and he has what appears to be a description of his book on his back. Dr. Hakim has purple strips of paper for both his eyebrows and mustache. His arms and legs are made from strips of paper as well.

Dr. Hakim is described by May as being "obscene". He is extremely flamboyant and eccentric, constantly voicing his ideals on love. Dr. Hakim persistent mannerism toward May and Cody can be seen as obnoxious and annoying, albeit with the intention of fixing their relationship.

Rose found Dr. Hakim's "Book of Love" in a trashcan at her school. When Rose found out that her parents were getting a divorce, she fled to the shed with two dolls she made of her parents and took out the "Book of Love". Rose would then make a wish for Dr. Hakim to help keep her parents together. Unbeknownst to her, Rose's wish was granted and Dr. Hakim promised to fix May and Cody's relationship.

•At the start of the game, Dr. Hakim claims that Rose purchased him, that he was the last copy and was selling the best. However, at the end of the game, Rose reveals that she had found the book in a trashcan at her school.

• This implies that Dr. Hakim did not truly know or was lying about how he
came into the possession of Rose.

•The fact that he was in a trashcan also implies that Dr. Hakim's "Book of
Love" was not actually a best seller, nor was he an actual expert on love.

• The text on his back reads: "Dr. Hakim has served as an instructor in the art form of love for over 20 years, and is the author of the groundbreaking book, 'Book of Love.' He is also a prolific singer and songwriter having written over
50 different songs of praise and worship inspired by his one true passion: love. He currently resides wherever love, passion and guidance is needed."
