ABOUT DPunks Chivalry Academy

Academy of Chivalry: Medieval Warfare

Academy is for players that would like to improve at chivalry. Initially founded in the wake of the Steam Winter Sale to teach new players the fundamentals of the game so they don't get slaughtered.

The purpose of the group is for Chivalry:MW player retention. I think we can help keep a high purportion of new player that start this game. The reason I feel player retention is low is because the game isn't very newbie friendly and the reason I feel this group can make a difference is because teaching basic fundamentals is easy, quick, and greatly improves new player performance and understanding of the game in a quick time peroid.

It's easy and fun for most instructors. And depending on how instructors choose to teach, helps even advanced veteran players sharpen their fundamental skillsets while greatly helping the new player in return.

Something to look forward to. Much more rank 10-30 players that are decent and enjoy the game much more than current new players. More people playing Chivalry: Medieval Warfare.

Some recommended ways to communicate with your instructor/apprentice:
-TS/Vent/Mumber/Other VoIP App
-Steam Chat
-Steam VoIP
-Feel free to ask me personally for info of a TS server that is available for people willing to participate and also just to have fun playing Chivalry with friends.

Thanks to everyone that participates, both veterans and newbies alike.

Temporarily putting this group on hold. You guys can still use the group to connect with friends for the time being until I find a new purpose. Officers and current members can stay and remain grandfathered in a case the new revised group ends up not being Chivalry related. But I'm going to try to aim towards something either Chivalry related or gaming related, so I think all current members will still fit in.

Yes Cool Dogger. I personally find it best to look low ranking players out in game and ask them over Steam if they are interested. But we have had some veterans and new players connect through this group.

So I suggest to any veterans to make a discussion post letting new players know what you can provide.

While I haven't seen any yet, any new players that are looking for a veteran to help them learn the game are welcome to post in the discussion as well. You will probably have a veteran available to help you learn the game within a few hours.

I'm not the best but I'll try to help in anyway I can. While I cannot say that I am a distinguished player, I love this game and want to encourage as many people as I can to stick with it! If you're interested in MAA or Archer, hmu! Have been taught many things by many players and am ready to pass on the info.

Hey, Desret Punk was the first person that helped me improve my skills in chivalry, he knows how to play and how to be a leader. I now know how to use the skills he taught me to slay my enemies. Desert will show you the ways, you just need to practice and apply.

I'm open to ideas for how to streamline this system. Prior, I simply added new players from games that seemed like they were willing to accept a few lessons and in all cases they improved very quickly.

I'd appreciate any instructors in taking the first steps in creating their threads explaining simple things such as who they are able to teach(time zone, class, ect), how to contact them, when to contact them and perhaps what time/days you're most willing to help new players out, whatever extra details you would like, In whichever style you would like.
