Promoting Japanese developers on Steam.

RECENT ANNOUNCEMENTS
"Princess Project" Leaving Steam SOON (90% farewell sale)

I haven't gotten to sit down and enjoy many games published from Kagura, but I've heard their translation work is very good. The games are priced to reflect that effort though.

Triangle! (とらいあんぐる!) is still around, and they still have games coming out on other sites. Two of their games (that I see) are still sold on Steam:
Kunoichi Tsubaki
淫魔ネムのChuChu

The game "Succubus Rem", the (poorly) English translation of 淫魔ネムのChuChu, was retired from back in 2021.

Hope this notice reaches you all in time. Also hope in the very near future I get a chance to play more good old 2D doujin games like these. :lieat:

Doujin Game "Lost In Sweets" Leaving Steam Aug.30th (and related rant)

Semi-related, but do you guys remember the Strike Witches VR game I warned about its removal
here back in December? Well Valve actually removed it from my library!

It's a weird situation, but before the app's retiring in December, my brother bought it for me as a scheduled gift set for my birthday. When it arrived as scheduled in March, everything was fine, but in May, while Valve was doing some internal cleanup, they saw this as abnormal and removed it from my account (since the gift activation date was after the removal date).

We contacted Steam Support but... just robot responses and non-sense. Eventually, Support replied to simply accused my bro of buying games using "abnormal means", said they wouldn't restore the purchase and probably flagged his account for suspicious activity. They refuse to look into it anymore, and simply delete any support ticket I make now.

I don't really trust Valve to be the custodian of my PC game collection these days, when their own internal error can remove games from anyone's account (and yes, they took more than Strike Witches). This is, of course, one of many pitfalls of digital distribution. If anyone else has had weird interactions with Support or issue with Steam similar to this, let me know. (Ironically, here I am again warning people to be able to buy something before they'll never be able to "own" it.)

Lastly, BitSummit 2024[bitsummit.org] is going on right now. EVO is too! Both at the same time. A lot of stuff to watch this weekend.:happy_seagull:

BitSummit has a page on Steam too, showcasing sales and freshly announced games. It's mostly flush with non-Japanese indies these days, but there's a few new doujin titles in there. Check it out here:

I hope you find this notice somewhat useful. I also used this post to vent some highly specific displeasure I have at Valve. You'll have to forgive me for that. I'm still PISSED. :angry_creep:

The brilliant Kazuki Takahashi has passed away. May his characters and stories stay in our imaginations forever.
