Counter-Strike: Global Offensive South Africa

Hi all!

So since we've recently started South African CS:GO match making, it seems that the local pickup channel has slowed done somewhat and most are now playing match making as a replacement, however... There are still many, many users who seem to be unaware that match making is live and are attempting to get pickup games going and haven't a clue how to get started with match making.

It would be hugely appreciated if the community could spread the word and help others with instructions on how to get into match making. It is not exactly difficult to get started, but there are other players that don't quite understand how it works.

I hope to see match making help the South African community grow, and I'm sure we can do it by helping others in getting into it.

For those of you who are willing to spead awareness, here are some things that may assist you in explaining to others:

• Open Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
  
  
• Set your maximum acceptable ping. This can be done 2 ways:
  
  • Navigate to options, game settings and move the max acceptable ping slider to anything below 100
    
  • Open up your CS:GO console and type mm_dedicated_search_maxping 99
    
    (The maximum acceptable ping should remain below 100 to avoid ending up on an international server, but anything you prefer may be entered)
  
  
• Create a lobby, join a lobby, or start searching on your own:
  
  • Click the large play button at the upper left of the menu
    
  • To start a lobby and invite friends, click Play with Friends
    
  • To start a search on your own, click Find a Game
  
  
• Once in a lobby, choose your maps from the settings section and ensure that the competitive tab is selected before clicking go.
