The NS2 server has been inactive for the last few months. Unfortuantely a lot of our core members have moved on away from the game including myself and if I do play it's very rare. I do intend on keeping the server online for the time being... I guess you can say it's more for sentimental reasons. If anyone is interested in taking over the server from a adminstrative point of view let me know. Please post to the the thread in the discussions tab of the group. Basic requirements: you actively play NS2 & have some server admin experience. I wouldn't mind introducing some new blood to revive the NS2 group. I will follow up with those interested personally.

A lot of new server changes have just been made. All the NS2 servers have now been relocated to Chicago. I reduced Combat from 24 to 18 for more balanced gameplay. Converted the Custom server into a 10 slot Xenoswarm server. Disabled badges on Custom & Combat. Shut down the *new* Teamspeak and will maintain the current *temporary* one as our main teamspeak.

The classic server relocation is probably the biggest and best change. A lot of the rubberbanding issues should be non-existent now and I don't expect any performance issues so enjoy the new tick rate! Also setup a basic DDOS protection web over the servers so we'll see how that works hopefully that stop all the high jumps in pings.

Let me know if there are any issues I've spent the last 2 hours play testing everything but I need a lot of playtesting on custom to make sure everything is working... FYI ... Experiencing a lot of Shine compatitible issues with custom so things like map voting will not work right.

Gentlemen and Ladies,

We've come a long way and it's been a very fun experience seeing the community grow and the NS server gain such popularity. I'm really proud to have the group members and admins we have because all of you have played a significant role in making the server a fun place to game in.

For some time now it has been on my mind to introduce a second gaming server and I feel like the time is right for it now. But, I wanted to do something more unique with this second server that moves away from Vanilla gameplay. In the next couple of days I'll be adding a mixture of custom maps & mods to the server.

The only request I have going forward is that all of you please report any bugs or errors that you may experience on the new server since I am only half-awake I didn't spend enough time play testing the mods. My second request is that if you had a mod that you were interested in playing that you believe would be a great addition to the community please leave a suggestion to me and I will take a look into it.

Just so you all know I have not forgotten about the website like some of you think I have! The process has taken much longer than I expected and my initial expectations for a launch date should of been more realisticly geared between six months and a year. The wait sucks but it's worth it believe me... the progress I'm witnessing in the design work is amazing and the website will have everything we need to grow bigger.
