Coupon Giveaway Group!

If you have a coupon lying around that you will never use, this is the place to get rid of it. It's worthless to you after all, right? Make the World a better place, and share the discount to someone who wants it.

This is a Giveaway group. Anything that you post here should be done so with the intent of giving the coupon away, while recieving nothing in return. If someone feels generous after you have shared the love/discount with them, they can by all means give you something in return.

If you want to negotiate terms of trade, or are wanting something in return for your 'effort', then you best go somewhere else.

Group Guidelines Part 1

Here are some guidelines to behaviour and posting in this group. Also included, a guide to how the Administration and Moderators should react to any 'breaches' of the guidelines. Any updates will be posted as a Community Announcement.

Where should you post?

When posting about a coupon you want to give away, please make use the 'Coupon Giveaways' section.

When seeking a coupon you do not have, please use the 'Coupon Hunting' section.

If you have a suggestion about how to improve this group (wait, we're not perfect?, or a problem relating to this group, please post in the 'Problems & Suggestions' section. Keep in mind, though, that you must have joined the group to post there.

Corrective actions

If you have posted in the incorrect forum, a member of the staff will, in all likelihood, move your thread to the correct location for you. If it's beyond a simple move, they will respond to the thread with instructions on how to remedy the situation. Repeat Offenders will be warned before any decisive action (eg thread deletion or a group ban) is taken.[/i]

Posting Guidelines

This group was created in order to provide a place for freely giving away coupons that you aren't going to use yourself for whatever reason. So, although it's perfectly okay if someone wants to tip you as a thank you for giving them a coupon, it's not okay to request anything in return for your coupon.

You can think of the template that follows as a guideline you can feel free to use, but as long as you have the essential information, you can format your threads however you'd like.

The basic information that all coupon giveaway threads should have is the...

Name of the Game
Discount Percentage
Expiration Date (At least the month & day)

Corrective Actions

If your post doesn't meet the minimum requirements, or you ignore the guidelines and request something in exchange for your coupons, you can expect a staff member to ask you to fix it and move it to the "Threads Which Need Fixing" subforum, at which point you will be given a grace period of 3 days to meet the guidelines. If your thread is not fixed within the grace period or you refuse to fix it, you can then expect, at the very least, for your thread will then be locked & archived. Repeat offenders will be banned from the group.

NOTE: If you feel there were extenuating circumstances that prevented you from fixing your thread within the grace period, you can feel free to add one of the staff members, and we'll consider your request.

Posting Template

As mentioned above, you can format your threads however you'd like as long as they meet the minimum requirements. That said, we thought it would be a good idea to offer something people can use as a starting point. In the example below, assume anything with {Curly Braces} around it should be replaced by the details from your particular coupon(s).

Post Content Guidelines (or, "Please Check Your Links!")

Before posting any external links, please make sure that they do not contain any inappropriate ("nsfw") content. What is considered "inappropriate" is primarily decided using the Steam Discussion Rules and Guidelines. If all else fails, before posting a link, as yourself: Would you click on that link while showing something to your Grandmother and/or parents?

If you do post something that is deemed inappropriate, it will be removed and replaced with [Redacted by Administration]. If it appears to be an honest oversight, you will be notified, and that w ill be the end of it. If it appears otherwise, further action will be taken, which may include anything from your post being deleted to a group ban or even being reported to Valve in extreme situations.
