COGS & Co is COGS' public group where all our friends and server buddies can join and be part of the COGS community.

ABOUT COGS
The Bristol University Computer Gaming Society (COGS) is for people interested in playing games on pcs, consoles and handhelds. We have a membership of around 180 people, and welcome all who share our interests. Our main events are the LAN parties held at the students union around three times a term, where we play a variety of games, both old and new, covering almost all genres.

COGS FACILITIES
COGS also has a dedicated server on the university network. It is open to all, and currently boasts dedicated servers for Unreal Tornament 2004, Team Fortress 2 and Teamspeak.

CHALLENGE COGS
We take most things pretty casually, but if you fancy a more organised game get in touch and we'll take you on!

A message from Recondos via Rainmaker

"Hi guys,

I'm sure the people who play TF2 in here know and have played on the Recondos (RCD) server before. They are a community who play for fun and have their own occasional mini-competitions.

RCD is currently changing the way they work and are looking for new friends, people with similar ideas and who love TF2 just like them to help them out. In short, they would like us TF2 players in here to join their steam group http://steamproxy.net/groups/recondos to help them expand their community, get their servers going, etc.

This is going to be a 'mutually beneficial friendship' (as ExHail, the guy from RCD who talked to me said) so they are offering the same in return. Their players will join our COGS & Co. group and help us when we need to start our own dedi."

Also, I know our server doesn't fill too fast - once it fills its fine, but the initial hurdle can be hard to overcome. So if you want me (or another admin) to post an announcement to help get th ball rolling, stop by the IRC - just go to http://www.cogsbristol.co.uk/javairc/ and the helpful people there will greet you and help you with any issues. Stop by and say hi!
