POW! We have an L4D2 server for all our zombie slaughtering needs :)

If you check our current site at www.clanruin.com, you will see that I have posted a little update to Clan Ruin's status. Also, I have posted a link where you can see what I'm working on as far as the new website goes. I would GREATLY appreciate it if you would take the time to glance at the work in progress right now and give me some feedback on what you would like / not like to see. Remember, this new site is going to be made with SC2 mainly in mind but will also be there to provide functionality for League of Legends, Diablo 3, L4D, TF2, etc.

I have updated our server to have the Hunter City v1.0b map on it. So if you log into our server, and type in the rcon_password, you can changelevel to l4d_vs_hunter_city_1.0b. Once you are in the game, switch to the infected team, z_spawn hunter, go forward into the room on the left and spawn in. (The survivors stay trapped in the cage) After that, just follow the arrows and have fun practicing your hunter skills! :)

The lobby started as just the usual pub-stomp setup. There were six of us, and I had almost opted to be on the pubbie team when I decided not to put up with aggravation. So the round started as the following teams:

The chapter was Blood Harvest and the first round made things look grim, as the pressure was on and Jon and my never-lost winning streak was 50-0 and on the line with a pub on our team, BokChoi who hadn’t played for a week, and up against our own. The first round ended with us being behind by 1000 points to no help of our pubbie Chan Something who got a grand total of 0 points on the first round of Blood Harvest. Blood Harvest. Episode 1. Zero points. And no, he wasn’t AFK. Needless to say, Fenen wanted to play so we kicked Chan Whathisface at the end of the first round and Fenen took his place for the 2nd map.

In the second round we recovered some lost ground and evened the score up and then some, as we were ahead by about 100 points after raping the Arrod/Pat/Road Rage team in the warehouse of the 2nd map.

In the third round we got rid of the last pubby and put Crits in before the round started. Now the opposing team had strengthened just as much as ours had. Arrod.cR was determined to break the bank that was Jon and myself’s 50-0 never-lost winning streak.

Near the end of the 4th round we were fairly confiedent that we were going to win because their health bonus was 10 below ours and we were in the lead by a little more than 100 points. This would mean that so long as nobody survived the finale, we would win. However, a wise transfer of health pack usage boosted their health bonus and put them in the lead by 51, which would turn out to be a very special number.

Feeling the pressure, the finale began. We were survivors first, and we managed to make it to the farm house with only minor nicks and scratches. However, the first tank played well and BokChoi and Lowe were in a corner behind the recliner. Needless to say, Road Rage (as the tank) made us regret that decision by knocking the Laz-E-Boy down our throats. The result was that our team failed the finale. We had 200 points and we had to stop them at 148 points, else they would have a tie or a victory, thus breaking the streak. This means that if they got to the button, or even to the cornfield, we were finished. Then, an amazing thing happened.

The mood was car-crash grim on our side, but we were ready to give it our all. I (Absurdtiy.cR) was the boomer, LGM_BokChoi was the smoker, and Lowe.cR and Fenen.cR were the hunters. Following a “monkey see, monkey do” strategy, LGM_BokChoi moved to the one-hit kill spot which Arrod.cR had failed to successfully manipulate last round. I moved to the opposite side of the train car, knowing they would look the other way. As soon as they opened the door, everyone spawned, and as they turned to the left . I began my puke and hit 3 of the 4 survivors, everyone except Bill. Arrod.cR was the victim of the smoker who was doomed to fall off the ledge. PatPat.cR, having been boomed, went back inside the train. Jon took the opportunity and pounced him. As Bill and Zoey ran to save Arrod.cR from the Smoker, Fenen made an amazing pounce on Zoey, the stumbling effect of which forced Bill off the ledge, leaving us with one dead survivor and three who were hopeless. They scored six points.


The final score: 4275 – 4129.

The record: 51-0.
