ABOUT Cheru Plays

Games, Comments, Life

Games are a part of life, but sometimes, they aren't.
Gaming for me has been part of a job for many years, and now I'm trying to find the fun in games again without having to look at it from an industry perspective.

I love indie games, I ramble, I comment on various things from the industry to life. But at the end of the day, I am human just like you and just want to connect with other gamers.

Welcome to my group, I'm still working out where to go from here.

(Ps. There will always be cat pictures)

Hey! Where did you go??
My most played games and why
Gocco of War
Honestly this is a half-half case. Half the reason I played this so much was to join other users on the chibi adventure online. The game was very much my asthetic, and running around with the other players, clearing levels, earning badges etc was a blast of fun. However, half of my time spent in this game was actually for debug. I've run almost all the levels and maps countless times, often having to solo a lot of the more challenging levels *just* to check if it was possible.
I've also spent countless hours finding and reporting bugs, some of which were fixed, some of which required my buggy character to be fixed (I break games, always have, always will. Let me know if you want me to tell you about my favourite game bugs in the comments).

Forget Me Not: My Organic Garden
I love the style of this game, its calming, its got a dark story, its a strange mix of visual novel and clicker. The number of times I have said the phrase "Harvest some organs!" when talking about this game is off the charts. However, most of the hours I have spent in this game have been for text check and debug. I do love the game though.

LiEat
I have played all three games of LiEat maybe 2 or 3 times in my personal time. I love the game, its cute, fun and charming all in one.
Once my team realised I knew how to clear the game so quickly, and knew where all the acheivements were hidden, when Playism started adding in more languages and programming the acheievements for those, I ended up having to play it multiple times, for some of the languages, after that. I've lost track of how many times I've cleared the game to be very honest.

Kingdoms and Castles
I grabbed Kingdoms and Castles at launch, and I have never regretted it! I remember sitting down to play, and getting so lost in managing, building and improving my kingdom, that the next thing I realised, the sun was rising. I have to play this game with a timer on to make sure I don't go too nuts with it. Each time there is an update though, I drop even more hours into it. Currently, my favourite is the dev mode. Being able to build the "perfect" kingdom and then play it without limitations has become quite and obsession of mine.

Shadowverse
I actually played this on mobile. When the Steam version came out, I was excited to finally play it in English, and didn't have to site for ages memorizing what each of my cards did and how I could use them. The Steam version just made my life easier! Haven't played in ages though... https://steamproxy.net/steamstore/app/453480/Shadowverse_CCG/

Cross Channel
Debug. And only debug. Maybe I'll get to play it properly one day, but I've spent so much time check each route triggered properly that its going to take a long time before I could sit down and play it to enjoy it.

LoveKami -Divinity Stage-
Lets see, I played it for acheivement checks, and a little bit of censor check (thank Steam for that). And then I played it for fun. And once for.... well a project I am not allowed to talk about, but am sure was cancelled *sigh*.
Was cute, enjoyed it. Got a ramble about it on my blog. [cheruplays.blogspot.com]

Sins Of The Demon RPG
Do not knock this game until you've played it! It sent me on a bit of an emotional mess, but the design, story and world building were all good and engaging. Something that I look for in an RPG. I loved this game, and was totally worth the hours I poured into it!

D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die
One of the first bigger projects I worked on. Not only did I play the game through twice for myself, but I also played it around 9 or 10 more times for debug. I've played it so many times that I am not sure I could bare playing it again.

If My Heart Had Wings -Flight Diary-
Ah, another pure debug title. I'll leave it at that. https://steamproxy.net/steamstore/app/923810

Was sort of hoping that I would have more games I loved in that list, but I do spend more time on my PS4 and Switch than on my PC.

Let me know what you think, and what your most played game is!

Hey, found out about you when the Yume Nikki remake came out. Glad to see you're alive and well. What have you been up to, anything neat you've made you could share perhaps?
