DOTA with the laughs without the rage

This is for our group of DOTA 2 players from the RPS forums. It's intended for fun, friendly games of DOTA 2. Teaching new players is encouraged, raging at others is highly frowned upon. Please set up Mumble so that you can play with us, check out the instructions below.

If anyone would like to organise an event then please contact me (HexagonalBolts), Jacque or any of the other officers.

Q: How do you organise games?
A: Most games are casual and just organised by a few people popping on the mumble and then inviting a couple more off of steam. We also organise some events often to encourage new group members to join in. We play for as long as people keep playing, there's no obligation.

Q: How do I get in a game?
A: Just jump into the RPS unoffical mumble server, it's likely several members from the group will be online, shout "I want to play" in the Dota2 channel. If nobody is online then add a member off of the group (try HexagonalBolts, Just Jacque or CircularScrews and we'll point you in the right direction.

Q: Do I need to know anyone before hand?
A: No not at all, just come on in and say hey! if you'd like someone friendly to check if there are any games going with then you're more then welcome to add the above people.

Please set up mumble to play with us, even if you don't have a microphone. It's extremely easy and it makes a huge difference.

1. Download Mumble: http://mumble.sourceforge.net/
2. Install Mumble, start it up, turn it off and start it up again (this allows it to update) so that it says 'mumble 1.2.3' in the taskbar at the top)
3. Press 'Server', then 'Connect' add a new server. the RPS community mumble address which we use is 'Server.herosquad.org', the port is default (64738), remember to put in a username.
4. Connect and join one of the DOTA rooms.

As well as hoping to promote the use of the groups steam chat channel by essentially camping out in it 24/7 there is also now an in game chat channel for the chums, making it easier to talk with people and find new players. Just search for Casual Dota Chums and click join.

Goodbye DOTA Chums! (Hex is off to Peru)

Thanks for many awesome games DOTA chums, I'm off to Peru where I suspect the internet will only support 2D games (...multiplayer OpenTTD anyone...?). I hope you will still be playing when I'm back in 6 months time! I've given the existing moderators all admin rights so they'll be at the helm now. I'll still hopefully be able to log into steam from time to time so you can stay in contact!

hi there. ive been playing dota on and off for the past 2 years or something, but i hate (and i mean HATE) play with randoms, because i dont find it enjoyable (to the point where i have 176 hours in the game and probably around 20 non bot games) but i'd really like to play with someone.

is there anyone interested in embracing a casual noob on euw? :p

Hi!
I'm looking for polite & friendly people. Also wish you to be around 4k mmr or higher, games needs to be in EUW/EUE.
(Would be great to have a potential leader in the team, as I'm not one. But not a must have.)
I'd prefer to get into a team so we're 5, but less is ok too.
