You're not the only hero.

I've been thinking about Black Paper in regards to Guild Wars 2 for a while and considering how, depending on the guild system in the game, a 'Black Paper guild' may not really be viable. I weighed the pros and cons of having a small guild (like BP was back in Phantasy Star Universe) against being part of a larger guild (which may well open up many interesting possibilities in GW2) and came to the conclusion that a small guild may miss out on certain features of gameplay and community. On the other hand, I've always enjoyed being part of smaller groups, the sense of camaraderie and closeness is lost on the larger guilds, which tend to splinter off into small groups (Black Paper itself being a good example)

And so I decided to take the initiative to use Steam's community groups to cultivate that sense of cooperation whether or not a GW2 Guild happens or not. Furthermore Steam groups gives us a ton more functionality on top of that, essentially allowing for a more natural flow between games. We can see which games each other is playing (Exactly like we did with Xfire, but with more freedom).

Think of the Black Paper group on Steam as the Xfire group 2.0, I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with it :)
