It has been a long, long road. I started running game servers back when I was 15 years old. I'm 27 now. These servers really turned me into who I am today, providing an environment where I could learn to code, and learn about system administration. All while having help and support from an amazing community, friends and staff team. Now days I work as a programmer and it would never have happened if it wasn't for this wonderful community.

But, as we all know. TF2 is quite old now. The servers don't see much activity, the donations aren't rolling in any more either. I've been paying the $120/mo hosting costs out of pocket for a while now. Me, my friends and the other staff members have simply lost interest in TF2 and moved onto other games, as have many people. We always thought about running other games, but the reality is that most games don't use dedicated servers anymore, and are instead hosted by the games creator. The industry has moved away from the community server model.

So, thank you to all of you - it really has been an amazing ride. But I think it's time for us to all move onto other things now.

We'll be shutting down on March 3rd, as that's when the billing period ends.

Scheduled Downtime

Hi folks, we are going to have a bit of downtime either today or tomorrow.

The downtime will be between 10pm EDT on 5/2 and 10am EDT on 5/3, or between 10pm EDT on 5/3 and 10am EDT on 5/4, and last approximately 2 hours (but up to 12) this is due to our hosting provider needing to physically move our server to another data center.

As such, all services will be affected, the game servers, website, IRC and Mumble servers will all be down during this period.
