Aston Martin is a British car manufacturer that first competed in Formula 1 in 1959 and 1960, the team ran under the name David Brown Corporation, according to the then owner of the car company. In both years, he did not score a single point, so he decided to leave the competition.[1]

In January 2020, Racing Point team owner Lawrence Stroll acquired a 16.7% stake in Aston Martin and decided to rename the Racing Point F1 Team stable as Aston Martin F1 Team from 2021.[2] Aston Martin's racing single-seater returned to Formula 1 after 61 years, this time with a Mercedes engine. Sergio Pérez was supposed to drive for the team in 2021 and 2022, but in the end he was replaced by four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel. The second rider was Lawrence Stroll's son Lance.[3] From 2023, another world champion, Fernando Alonso, replaced Vettel, who ended his racing career.[4] From 2026, the team will drive with Honda power units
