WE ARE NOT DEAD; WE HAVE A SERVER; WE HAVE MEMBERS

Quite simply...

The [not real] Problem: (1) groups are too crowded and far too noisy for any real communication, and (2) this noise makes it impossible to take advantage of the internet's crowning achievement--instant human interaction.

The [real] Problem: (1) Some of the most helpful and interesting discussions about abstract technical details, team strategy, cfg/autoexec preferences, secrets and tricks, etc. (you get the point) happened years and years ago, (2) and more than three out of five Google searches for discussions aforementioned turn up non-sense information, outright trolling, or nothing at all (some pages are so old and worn-out that they have been reduced to nothing but de_dust2).

A Quiet Place to Think: I thought about how nice it would be, if there were a place for me to put my thinking slippers on and engage my peers, comrades, and friends concerning the philosophies of our respective gaming "universes." This is my attempt to do just that, and the longevity, popularity, and utility of this group (and associated clan tag) will be determined by what we find important and how we go about thinking about it.

Q) Don't groups like this already exist? A) Yes, they do, and the only thing that sets this group apart from the rest is the focus on fact-finding and fact-sharing. This in essence means that areas and boundaries for subjects be strictly adhered to, and that the next bullseye should be one that could help someone (or yourself) solve a problem or satisfy an enquiry. This type of discipline is often very difficult to manage, so this will also be somewhat of a "social experiment," although I don't quite like those words exactly.
