Hello Everyone!

Quick Reminder that our tournament check-ins have been moved to Discord, rather than sticking with our steam group chat.

This decision was made to make management of the event a bit easier overall, along with the benefits of having a more interconnected hub for communication among teams, friends & tournament staff.

Hello Everyone!

I want to make a quick update to the members of this group regarding one of many adjustments being made to The Rookie Royale.

After a combination of feedback/experience from the first week of the event. We have decided to create and establish a new discord community in order to improve our organization, as well as create a more interconnected hub for everyone to interact with.

If you are not familiar at all with discord, it is a voice/group communication app reminiscent of Skype & Server-Based Text programs, with a focus on ease of use and gaming oriented features.

It is Available on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS and In your browser. As such it is cross-platform and all features/chats can be accessed from any platform using your account at any time!

This means that we will be phasing out our reliance on the Steam Group in favor of our public discord. So all future tournaments in the Rookie Royale, as well as ALL future alp events, will take place in our discord server.

Another benefit to the change you will see is a more direct way of communicating with all of the staff members involved with the event. This includes organizers and coaches as well.

An Important note is that you will need to create and verify your email on Discord before you can enter our group. As we have enabled restrictions to allow only geniuene/verified accounts.

Once you have the program downloaded and installed, you will need to enter in our server link in the "Create/Join Server" section of the program. (Should be a Big + Button that will prompt you a new menu specific to your selection.)

After clicking "Join a Server", it will ask you for a link to paste in. After pasting it in, just click join and you will should now be entered into the server.

You aren't too late stariperdom!

You can still play in The Rookie Royale, as we are running the event for another two weeks.

All of the registrations are hosted on our official forum thread at: http://steamproxy.net/groups/TheRookieRoyale

Everything is just moving to Discord for check-ins and making organization easier.

Hey Sylinus Grey!

You just need to show up in the Group chat during the check-in phase of the day. Which happens at 14:00 UTC, or more specifically in your case 10:00 AM EST. (Since 9:00 AM Central is the check-in time for me over here.)

If your team is up and ready, just say (TEAMNAME) checking in! With that, we can officially add you in the bracket.

If you are a free agent, just state that you are checking in as a free-agent, where we will then be able to pair you with other agents in as close of a skill-level as possible before we start the bracket.

So, I completely forgot about the tourney, I'm stilla little shaky on how to be present at the proper time? Honestly, I'm thinking I just hang out int he group chatroom like I am now. Darn goood thing a friend logged in just now and reminded me. Guess I should log a few more games before it's time... twelve hours until tourney WOOO! Good luck everyone!
