We Are Because We Think...

Gamers with intelligence. For those who think that over zealous moderation means the main forums are less community than sheep pen. A place where not every discussion will get closed down. Also for people to write longer form material about gaming and to exchange useful information. NOTE: HACKING, CHEATING, and STEALING INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Promoting however the newest free download from the Origin website, or the best deals on Steam, GOG, or Amazon will be encouraged. Goals are to encompass all of good character and good nature.

Rules:

1) Rather than re-write them assume that all Steam rules apply here, save that discussions on politics, racism, and sexism in games, subject to other rules, will be tolerated.
2) I'm aiming for the ambience of an 18th century salon and not a bear pit. Attitude and language accordingly, please.
3) The various libel laws do apply in cyberspace so if you are going to criticise a company make sure your factual basis is supported by data from a reliable source.
4) We are the strong and the good. No taking potshots at individuals unless they are powerful enough to stand up for themselves - company CEO's, politicians etc.
5) Unless someone has broadcasted themselves with criticisable material. So we don't join the mob on some civilian whose perhaps momentary insensitivity has made them the centre of an internet firestorm but anyone who has chosen to step into the ring and publically espouse their views has chosen to open up their views for public comment.
6) In the words of Winston Churchill democracy is the worst form of government except every other form of government that has been tried. I would say that this group is currently operating under a dictatorship but that's rather overblown when there's just me so far. I'm making it up as I go along....
