The Gentleman's Lettuce Club is a place of extreme acceptance and unity among the one thing that brings us all together as a people. The Ancient Egyptians are often coined as some of the most innovative and hardworking people that created many innovations that we now take for granted. Here at the GLC, we celebrate the most important of the Ancient Egyptians inventions, Cultivating the "weedy Cinderella" (T. W. Whitaker ,1974). Lettuce is easily the most influential and powerful salad vegetable the modern (as well as ancient) world has ever seen. The GLC does not demand much of its participants. But we do beg the question. How much has the "Queen of the Salad Plants" (Franklin W. Martin and Ruth M. Ruberté ,1975" impacted your life? Take a look around you and you will find that Lettuce has impacted your life more than you could have ever imagined before experiencing an experience that can be enjoyed only once in one's lifetime 'Lactuca Sativa Nirvana' which is the term meaning the moment when one realizes the true and exponentially unfathomable abilities: both spiritual and physical, that the superior member of the annual daisy family has o the very fibers of time and space, holding our world together. At The GLC we devote every waking hour, minute, and second to the leafy goddess of creation and happiness, but we must not spend all of these precious mortal moments expressing our gratitude to our green bulbous savior. We save our collective Lettuce energy for an annual meeting on the 9th of June (National Lettuce Day), each time at a different undisclosed location, where as a community and as a brotherhood we shall express our extreme gratitude by dividing 55 pounds of lettuce among the congregation (55 of course representing the amount of days it takes an average head of lettuce to mature) and feast upon our Savior and our king.
