Task Force Trident

Hey old friends,

For those of you that played with me and the old crew in the past, I want to thank you for the great memories. I had to leave the old Task Force Tempest for a RL deployment, and in that time - much happened to cause everyone to go their own ways, and that is okay and I hope everyone is doing well. I've been back from deployment for a good enough time now to get back into the new normal for me, and one thing that myself and some former milsim folks missed was the old TFT unit. We decided to put our efforts into bringing her back, and with that comes a redo of the website (we have spent the week acquiring PERSCOMM and integrating it into the website), a new Teamspeak, and a new way of doing things.

When we were talking about rebooting TFT, I said I was tired of the old way of doing things in MILSIMs. It seems to always be the same thing, you simulate being some grunt force - with terrible equipment and vehicles, doing boring stuff like patrols and village attacks in mostly desert maps. I don't want to do that. I said I wanted for once to just have fun in a MILSIM, let's be a fun unit, with good equipment and awesome vehicles, special forces all the way if we have to, and play loose with the rules. At the end of the day, I just want to have the military organization and simulation but play some fun shoot em ups with friends. With that in mind, we've decided to go U.S. Naval Special Forces this time around (something I actually know a thing or two about), with naval air support. TFT will now be a Navy SEAL squadron with naval rotary and fixed wing support. I want to do paradrops with people and boats, maritime insertions, and paradrops with supplies and base building materials, cool helicopters and good weapons with effective scopes, ect - I just want to have fun with it.

If you're interested in any of this, I would love to welcome you back to TFT. We've established the bones of the Teamspeak and Website, and made the decision to go special forces, but we haven't set all the leadership in stone yet. If you want to help us bring life back to the TFT name, I will definitely have positions open for those who want to get going ASAP. We would love to start our first operation tomorrow. We've had over a dozen folks we used to play with show back up and looking to play again and I would love to see even more.
