ABOUT TWI - NO MICROTRANSACTIONS !!

TWI...NO Micro-transactions after using Early Access!

Aim: to get Tripwire Interactive to reconsider/reform the Zedconomy.

We feel TWI made a mistake by adding the Zedconomy in such an early state of Early Access, while the core content of the game is incomplete and without a consolidated playerbase.

We'd like TWI to permanently remove the key crate RNG microeconomy from the game.

Our message to TWI:

1. Please concentrate on finalizing the core Early Access game content and do not allow the Zedconomy implementation to change the game's direction and focus.

2. Many of us are longtime TWI supporters and previously loyal fans. We want TWI and KF2 to succeed. Our Early Access support is proof of this. As invested customers, we want to monetarily support TWI without compromising our game experience or community. We are open to different monetization models, yet find the key crate RNG microeconomy objectionable and not fit for the game. We invite TWI to iterate the Zedconomy into something that attracts the playerbase rather than alienates a segment of it.

3. Ideally, Zedconomy items would confer no advantage to the owner and would remain cosmetic only. Please clarify those terms on your Zedconomy FAQ.

4. Implementation of the Zedconomy was clearly planned from very early on, if not from inception of the game into Early Access. By withholding that information until 7 - 8 months s/p release, players were effectively unable to make an educated purchase on the matter or request refunds. Please address your community and bridge the fractured trust these recent actions have caused.

5. As a gesture of goodwill, consider facilitating refunds to interested parties who purchased KF2 on Steam prior to the Zedconomy announcement (11/23/2015).

AS A CONCERNED/POTENTIAL CUSTOMER, WHAT CAN YOU DO?

A) Invite all your Friends which may be interested, spread the word, be respectful

B) Speak with your wallet: Do NOT form part of the Zedconomy, Do not
support TWI products

C) Review the game (particularly on Steam store): Make sure to include
information on the Zedconomy/Microtransaction model

D) Add "Microtransactions" and "Microeconomy" Steam tags to KF2 Include other games also: TF2, CS:GO, etc.

E) Contact TWI, Use Social Media Stay respectful.

F) Stay tuned for group announcements.

G) Suggest alternative Zedconomy models.

Loot Boxes deemed gambling and illegal in Belgium, Netherlands....go under intense scrutiny elsewhere!

Dear Gamers and Concerned Customers,

As you very well know, many of us have been aware for a long time of the fact that loot boxes, key crate RNG and similar microtransactions are essentially paid games of chance aka. gambling. These virtual slot machines are introduced into games as a money sink: One that makes the title esentially have no price ceiling, one that preys especially on minors and on at risk and vulnerable individuals but ultimately on the population at large under the pretense of an "optional" addition to a title. However, these systems are invariably designed in such a way as to goad the player into partaking in the system (either via drops, market, ingame store, key crate gambling, paid mods via community made cosmetics, etc.) and use the game itself as a neverending loop of marketing by exposing the customer to such items and monetization. The customer makes him/herself suggestible to such conditioning and manipulation by surrendering to the virtual world that is supposed to be an inocuous, fun and enjoyable experience rather than a carefully designed and thinly veiled virtual casino / online marketplace inside a game.

WELL....

FINALLY, the gaming population at large has made their voices heard about these anticonsumer, predatory practices! After the fallout from EA's poorly conceived implementation of paid to win loot boxes tied to game progression on Star Wars Battlefront 2, a number of countries and governmental bodies / gambling authorities all over the world have begun to pay notice to said practice...and some are acting!

Netherlands was the first country to classify certain loot boxes as gambling, and illegal. They gave video game publishers a timeline to REMOVE loot boxes deemed to be illegal by mid June 2018:

UK Gambling Authority and the US overall have lagged behind in their consideration of loot boxes as gambling. Only the Washington Gambling Commission gave Valve a notice about them, and Valve responded by disabling external websites that used Steam API to gamble with Steam Marketables but stopped at that.

Additional european countries are scrutinizing loot boxes and predatory monetization of the gambling type in games.

Its a good day where, finally, legislations around the world are seeing loot boxes for what they really are. What took so long!? If one thing is clear from all of this, is that developers, publishers and storefronts cannot be trusted to have a fair, conscientous and morally minded limit with regards to predatory monetization in their games...even if they are PAID and not F2P.

@woochie >90% it will. There was no indication whatsoever that they want to roll back their predatory practices. In fact, if anything, they've doubled down on them, offering paid weapons in KF2 for $9.99 each with abysmally bad quality of weapon animations.

Nah, this group hasn't lost, it has scored a big win and is a big inspiration for all the gamers in the world at fighting back against the globohomo corporations. Example: the "Deep Rock Galactic" game is a superficial (as compared to any KF game) and shallow game with abysmally bad cartoonish graphics, BS scifi guns and no mocap animations. Yet, it commands roughly 20-30 times more numerous playerbase. The only difference is the studio behind it did not alienate their playerbase like TWI did. BlackSpawn and BigGuns helped to expose TWI's misdeeds and fought back for consumer rights which has resulted in a lot of revenue and playerbase lost for TWI. This is how it should be -- greedy bastards should fail and this group has won by ensuring that TWI doesn't at least perform well and may fail completely in the future, unless they find their way back to respecting the gamers.

While KF1 had paid weapons you could originally buy 4 new weapons for $2 on sale. It was only after TWI stopped updating KF1 that they jacked the price of KF1 weapons thru the roof.

Obvius ploy to push new players to KF2 and milk KF1.

TWI was not always focused on using abusive practices to get maximum profit. Since KF2 started, that is who they are now.
