As for myself; I take endgame very seriously. I have since WOW. My intention is to max quickly for those activities.
I'm guessing the answer lies somewhere in the middle where we can all have fun and enjoy the game as casually or hardcore as we like. It's great to have something like a Discord server to facilitate and streamline the process of comms/making new friends, having an LFG, and raid teams, etc. - basically anything social.
I heard you played WoW and Destiny in the past, as did I, so I'll imagine it'll function similarly.
I also played the PS4 closed beta despite intending to play the full release on PC and I had a blast. Missing the game already, it'll be a long August... :P
