This is the Community Group for Star Ruler 2.

Welcome to the Star Ruler 2 Community. Feel free to use this group to discuss ship design, mods, tactics, etc. More importantly check in to the group periodically to see when we are scheduling games. This group will be used to arrange massive multiplayer games for those who want to put their skillz to the test. For those looking for the casual pick up game of Star Ruler 2 please use the chat box on this page instead of the IRC chat to find other players. We all know that the IRC Chat is not very effective. Maybe there are just that many people who only play with their friends, don't watch the forums, or only play one player with AI.

According to https://Steamspy.com/dev/Blind+Mind+Studios , March 2015, there are 53,191 owners.
Looking at "ViewFriends List and clicking on groups SR2 there are 1,679 in game, 4,397 on line.
Where is everyone?

I don't think hosting a 700 system galaxy is the hard part. I think the the hard part is joining the game and having the game be playable at normal speed. The host won't know how much lag the people who joined are getting unless they tell him about it.

I have been in one game that had so much lag that the game stoped for 10 minutes with nothing seeming to happen on my end.


As far as getting the feel of how big space is I think the game called Stellaris does a much better job of that than star ruler 2 can. In fact it can go up to 1000 stars, and run it much easier than star ruler 2 ever could at that size.
