Creating a More Serious Team

Hey guys,

I'm pretty sure we've all talked about becoming a more serious team at some point or another, but I feel that we really need to act on that talk and begin improving and competing. I'm just gonna go through a few quick issues we have, then lay out a tentative schedule for team practice and another schedule for 10-mans/pugs.

This is a huge issue among all of us IMHO. I notice it with myself and Lawson most often, with Noah, Neil, and James having the best communication. Better communcation is just going to come from running through games and practicing, however, so I'll touch on that aspect of solving it later.


We need to know how to run strats. We need a confident IGL that can change strats mid round. We need people who can identify what another player needs to survive without that player requesting it. If we don't have any of those things yet, then our only solution is to think about our issues. Any problems we could have need to be raised and thought of in team practice.


Noah and I aren't often consistent. We'll have entire weeks where we fall of completely in the realm of aim. Our solution to this is, again, further practice. Instead of aim-dueling or anything between oneanother, we just need to Deathmatch until we all have roughly equivalent aim. This is certainly something we can all work on, but me, Noah, and Lawson: we need to put in the extra work.

I'm reccomending 2 hours practice a night to be hosted on my server. We'll run strats and develop them. (Dry run after dry run.) I think a slot from 8:00 to 10:00 P.M. EST would work well for everyone: it allows plenty of time from when school is out as well as providing 1-2 hours to play a game or two.


I don't know what website we would use to organize 10mans and scrims. If anyone has any ideas, please tell me. In most cases we'll need to handle a subscription fee unless we find teams to play against on a home server.
