Realism is the basis for any realism unit and is one of the foundations of the 6th Ranger Battalion. What is realism? “Realism” is a game mode for Day of Defeat:Source. The Realism game mode is designed to create a more realistic atmosphere than the typical FPS multiplayer style of game play. It provides participants the opportunity to engage other teams in planned and organized skirmishes. Within realism, a team oriented approach is emphasized, as players attempt to defeat the other team within a specified time-frame, in a best 3 out of 5 match format. In addition, players do not re-spawn within realism game play. During a match, once a player has been killed, he is dead until the next match. This approach demands a different type of game play, and provides added tension to the experience. The 6th Ranger Battalion looks to provide its members with a realistic and authentic team based experience by participating in both “Official” realism with outside realism clans, “Casual” realism with 6th RB and SAC members only, and “Open” realism, open to all players. Anyone that disregards them, will be removed from the server. 1. Barricades must be passable (via jumping or ducking), or breakable 2. Rifle Grenade priming and Pre-Nading are allowed 3. Roofs and trees are off limits! (unless said otherwise by realism leader) 4. No Floating (70% or more of your body must be realistic or touching a surface) 5. Full fields/full tank house (on Donner) 6. No Skyboxing 7. All weapon pick-ups 8. No Sprays outside of spawn 9. Team chat only 10. No Prop Boosting 11. Realism leader has final say 12. Breaking rules will result in a punishment.
