WE ARE NOW SUPER NAILGUN WORLD.

The live TF2 server has been shut down due to inactivity, and in it's place I have started a PF2 server focused on an old school experience, to seemingly great success. ... Live TF2 may return in the future, but for now I look forward to building this community up, and making sure growth is steady. If you're new, welcome to Nailgun World, and I hope you have fun!

play.nailgunworld.com will now be the easiest way to connect to this server, and if you don't know what Pre-Fortress 2 is, think of it as the TF2 Beta with TFC aspects added in. Lots of grenades, lots of Nails.

Plenty of New Reverts, Plugin Changes + Additions, and Rambling
Scout
- The Crit-a-Cola has been reverted. When drinking it, you’ll receive no marked for death penalty, but instead a 10% damage vulnerability, and a 25% speed boost. This pairs EXTREMELY well with The Shortstop.

Soldier
- The Gunboats have been reverted, now giving the user 75% resistance to self blast damage. This means that each rocket jump will only deal ~15 damage per jump max...

Yes, and I'm thinking about maaaaybe reverting the Rocket Jumper to back when it was able to pick up intel because of this. At the same time, this is a horrible idea and I'll probably just see what most people think, un-reverting the gunboats is always an option.. but also I really don't think this is much of an issue.

Pyro
- The Powerjack got its overheal function properly coded in, in due part to me slowly getting a lot better with sourcepawn.

Demo
- The Loch-n-Load has been changed back to its 3 shot version, prior to gunmettle, with the previous downsides.

Heavy
- The Brass Beast has been reverted to before the Meet Your Match update. The only change being that its +20% damage resistance is in effect at all times while spun up, instead of just when your health is below 50%.

- The Natascha has been reverted as well, to before the Gun Mettle update. The changes are that the slowness effect on hit has NO FALLOFF, meaning scouts can barely even approach you even from a large distance, and you'll also get +50% more minigun ammo. Downside of this revert is that you no longer have any damage resistance but.. be honest with yourself, does this matter when you can make any scout you play against want to cry?

- The Tomislav has been reverted to when it had a 40% spin-up speed increase and no accuracy bonus. I tested out the 75% spin-up speed increase of the original and.. I feel like it is absolutely too fucked to continue existing, so we're sticking to the 40% version.

- The Warrior's Spirit has been.. reverted again, due to a change I'll list down below in the server changes section.

Engineer
- The Gunslinger is reverted to its prime state of pissing off Scouts and Soldiers! It now spawns in with 100HP, builds fast without being hit (can't be boosted during the building phase), and drops metal refilling gibs when destroyed. On the downside, it can't be repaired in any way. No refilling ammo, no repairing, nothing.

- The Pomson 6000 has been further reverted to its release state, now penetrating players for easy spam down hallways, and dealing reduced damage at a Base Damage of 36.

- The Rescue Ranger has been reverted to before the Tough Break update, allowing it to heal 75HP per bolt and heal buildings for free.

- The Wrangler has been reverted to before the Gun Mettle Update, allowing it to once again be repaired at a normal rate. This means that as compared to The Wrangler in every other server, where repairs are reduced by 66%, repairs function as if the shield isn't there. Downside(?) of this is that your shield will go down 1s after death if you were actively holding The Wrangler out.

Medic
- The Blutsauger has been reverted to its.. interesting release stats. The downside of the modern Blutsauger has been replaced with a simple No Random Crits attribute.

Sniper
- The Cozy Camper has been reverted to allow for the no flinching attribute to always be in effect, no matter the charge state.



Sorry spies, you get nothing.


Reverts Plugin Changes
As for the other change with the reverts plugin, there is now a better menu for viewing information about the available reverts. Instead of printing to console, the first menu option for !reverts will now give you a nice menu to select and view info on each reverted weapon one at a time.

Alongside this, as hinted at in The Warrior's Spirit text, I enabled un-reverting weapons for some that might be divisive among people. The list of choosable weapons is as follows:

  • Atomizer
  • Axtinguisher
  • Blutsauger
  • Dead Ringer
  • Enforcer
  • Eviction Notice
  • The GRU
  • Liberty Launcher
  • Loose Cannon
  • Panic Attack
  • PBPP
  • Short Circuit

  • Sydney Sleeper
  • The Tomislav
  • Vita-Saw
  • Warrior's Spirit


Now, this server is purely casual first and foremost. Still, I do know that when you're playing a game, you generally expect fights to go a certain way. With more than one version of a weapon going around it's pretty much impossible to tell at times which way it's going to go. That's why I'm trying to keep this list as small as possible compared to the other reverts that are always enabled, and I'd like to hear your thoughts on if any should be taken off this list, or added onto it.

Other Server Changes
A lot of people have asked me for instant respawns and BHop, and I do enjoy that type of gameplay, but not all the time. I still use this server as a way for me to enjoy this game in its rotting state, and so I'd like to keep it as a way for me to still enjoy relatively vanilla gameplay.

But.

Starting a week or so ago, the server will now be switching BHop and Instant Respawns on after 12AM CST, till 6AM. If people want this time extended, I'll try it out, but for now we'll be sticking to this.

General Talking
While fewer people talk in the group chat than I've hoped when events aren't ongoing, I'm genuinely really happy with how many people have been enjoying this community, and I hope as we keep growing, idle talk will pick up.

With an event in two days and my computer being fixed tonight, I hope I can work a lot more on the server and group in general starting now, and I just wanna thank you all for hanging around.
