Linux gaming experience – DotA 2 on Linux

First simmering for a Linux client, now playing with passion.

This group is made for people playing DotA 2 on Linux. No more rebooting is required, for some even no Windows is required any more ;)

Well, that is the goal. Currently the DotA 2 client for Linux is not really performant resulting in low framerates (fps) and annoying lags. We hope this will be fixed some day.

Further informations (group history):
This group was once created as a result of the campaign “Dota 2 on Linux”, in order to evince that there is a great demand for a Linux client for DotA 2.

Since the Linux client has been released on 18th of July, we reformed to a community of DotA 2 Linux player.

Reforming group

Today I did the first step of the reforming process: I rewrote the group description. Since Dota 2 is not running smooth and there are several bugs on different Linux distributions I decided to made a transitional description.

If some day the Dota 2 client works well on every, or at least most, Linux distribution I will rewrite the description again.

You may have noticed it - on 18th of july Dota 2 was released on Linux client.

Dota 2 Linux Minimum System Requirements:
Ubuntu 12.04
Dual core from Intel or AMD at 2.8 GHz
4GB RAM
8GB Hard Drive Space,
nVidia GeForce 8600/9600GT, ATI/AMD Radeaon HD2600/3600 (Graphic Drivers: nVidia 310, AMD 12.11), OpenGL 2.1
OpenAL Compatible Sound Card

From now on you will find it in your library.

can some1 help me, i had this problem " LoadSystemDependencies(): AppSystemDict: Error in Connect() of interface 'GameUI011'! " i already tried so many ways to fix that and i did it first but then after i reboot my notebook and then error message shows up again

im using ubuntu 14.04
i5 5200U 2.20Ghz
Nvidia 920M
Dell 3443

hey,. i am use ubuntu 14.04 for play dota2, its about last update on pre october, i got issue, if i wanna watch another game on watch menu in dota 2 reborn i suddenly quit dota,, are you got same issue like me?? please suggest how to fixing it,. thanks before :D
