Common Law Ratified.
  • NOTIFICATION: Only the Head of Government (HG), Head of State (HS), and Secondary Head of State (SHS) can implement, revoke, modify, veto, and sign legislation related to Common Law. Common Law is a set of laws based on common sense (laws against felonies) and not any rights/misdemeanors.


    ARTICLE I:
    To commit an act of murder or attempted murder, those held accountable for will be tried as felons (unless they were proven to have committed it in an act of self-defence). The defendant, if proven guilty, will face capital punishment, without bail.
    - SECTION I: First degree murder: An act of murder which is premeditated with malice aforethought; the crime of murder which is premeditated with malice aforethought.
    - SECTION II: Second degree murder: An act of murder with intent, but without premeditation; The crime of murder with intent, but without premeditation.
    - SECTION III: Third degree murder: An act of encouragement of murder or suicide or an act of attempting to commit suicide.
    - SECTION IV: Fourth degree murder: Murder committed by an accomplice. One member of a party kills one person and the the other member of a party did not take part in the murder, but did take part by being present with the murderer.

    ARTICLE II:
    To commit an act of evasion of arrest, those held accountable for will be tried as felons. The defendant, if proven guilty, will face capital punishment, without bail.

    ARTICLE III:
    To commit an act of tax evasion, those held accountable for will be tried as felons. The defendant, if proven guilty, will be imprisoned for 1+ years, without bail. Upon release, they will be ordered to conscript or receive employment, whereas, 50% of their income (including taxes) will be given to the government in order to repay their debts.

    ARTICLE IV:
    To commit an act of fabrication or destruction of evidence, those held accountable for will be tried as felons. This includes bribery, document fabrication, forgery of evidence, witness intimidation, destruction of evidence, etc. The defendant, if proven guilty, will face capital punishment, without bail.

    ARTICLE V:
    To commit an act of smuggling, those held accountable for will be tried as felons. This includes smuggling of illegal aliens, unauthenticated identities, contraband, etc. The defendant, if proven guilty, will face capital punishment, without bail.

    ARTICLE VI:
    To commit an act of corruption, those held accountable for will be tried as felons. This includes namely government, police, military, employers, or civil officials participating in an act of bribery, conspiracy, framing, etc. to benefit their self-interests or a third-party's interests. The defendant, if proven guilty, will face capital punishment, without bail.

    ARTICLE VII:
    To commit an act of terrorism, those held accountable for will be tried as felons. The defendant, if proven guilty, will face capital punishment, without bail.

    ARTICLE VIII:
    To commit an act of adultery, polygamy, or involuntary prostitution, those held accountable for will be tried as felons. The defendant, if proven guilty, will face 10+ years in imprisonment/conscription or capital punishment, without bail.

    ARTICLE IX:
    To commit an act of transgendering, paedophilia, necrophilia, rape, beastiality, those held accountable for will be tried as felons. The defendant, if proven guilty, will face capital punishment, without bail.

    ARTICLE X:
    To commit an act of vandalism, theft, robbery, armed robbery, or assault, those held accountable for will be tried as felons. The defendant, if proven guilty, will face 10+ years in imprisonment/conscription and hefty fines or capital punishment, without bail.

    ARTICLE XI:
    To commit an act of forceful entry/trespass or burglary, those held accountable for will be tried as felons. The owner of the property has the right to defend oneself's life, family, limb, liberty, or properties to whatever means necessary. If committed on non-government property, the defendant, if proven guilty, will face 10+ years in imprisonment/conscription and hefty fines or capital punishment, without bail. If committed on government property, the defendant, if proven guilty, will face capital punishment, without bail.

    ARTICLE XII:
    To commit an act of bank robbery or grand larceny, those held accountable for will be tried as felons. The defendant, if proven guilty, will face capital punishment, without bail.

    ARTICLE XIII:
    To commit an act of revolt against the government or to organize a guerrilla organization without legal authority from the government, those held accountable for will be tried as felons (this includes rioters and looters, unless granted amnesty by the Central Government and/or Military. The defendant, if proven guilty, will face capital punishment, without bail. In a civil dispute involving two or more military organizations, if martial law is in place, any captured participants may face capital punishment immediately upon orders from the Central Government or the Military.

    ARTICLE XIV:
    To commit an act of breaking a contract, those held accountable for will be tried as felons. Both parties that sign the contract will likely face 1+ years in imprisonment/conscription and hefty fines if the contract consists of any illegal activities or if the contract is not authenticated by a member of the Chancellery. Once a contract is signed, it cannot be broken, unless both parties agree to interview a member of the Chancellery to legally dismantle the contract. A member of the Chancellery may refuse to entertain the case or charge both parties a fee within reason.

    ARTICLE XV:
    To commit an act of illegal declassification of classified documentations, those held accountable for will be tried as felons. The defendant, if proven guilty, will face capital punishment, without bail.

    ARTICLE XVI:
    To commit an act of poisoning the food or water supply, those held accountable for will be tried as felons. The defendant, if proven guilty, will face capital punishment, without bail. A search warrant will likely be issued on the suspect, which will be used as evidence in the court of law, and safely destroyed after trial.

Constitutional Law Ratified.
  • NOTIFICATION: Only the Head of Government (HG) can modify the Constitutional Law.


    AMENDMENT I:
    No law can be made that infringes Icelandic citizens of their rights protected by the Constitutional Law and Common Law, nor does the Constitutional Law or Common Law protect or apply to those without an Icelandic citizenship.

    AMENDMENT II:
    Government shall make no law prohibiting the right of the people to the free exercise of speech, opinion, expression, political and religious freedoms, not including spam, malicious/illegal content, trolling, offensive/racist remarks, and threats; or the right to be in a public vicinity; or the right to water and agriculture; or the right to public healthcare and welfare; or the right to a free press and education; or the right to peaceably assemble and peaceably associate; or the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

    AMENDMENT III:
    Government shall make no law prohibiting the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures. No warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized, with due process of law.

    AMENDMENT IV:
    No citizen shall be compelled to witness against oneself and/or others; nor shall any citizen be put in jeopardy of life, limb, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be seized and used for public/government use, without justified compensation and/or consent from its rightful ownership.

    AMENDMENT V:
    Government shall make no law prohibiting the right of the people to open carry, keep, and bear arms, being necessary to the security of a free state against a tyrannical government or foreign invader, also for hunting, home defence, and self-defence.
