Background
Preceded by the clone scout troopers of the Galactic Republic, scout troopers provide excellent long-range fire for their stormtrooper counterparts. Scout troopers can be found aboard Darth Vader's personal fleet, Death Squadron. One of the scout troopers' priorities is to aid the Sith Lord in squashing out the Rebel Alliance along with its sympathisers and secret allies.
You won't find better marksmen anywhere else.
Our Role in the Empire's Army
Usually in debriefing, you'll hear a complicated version of us getting up high and shooting stuff. In a general sense, yes, that is exactly what we do and we do it bloody well, I tell you. In reality, however, we also do scouting and over-watch areas when in defence and offence alike (as suggested by the name of our regiment). This scouting and over-watch can provide extremely valuable, noting the locations of VIPs, High Value Targets, reinforcements, enemy camps and more. You name it, we can spot it.
You'll typically find us stationed on the control tower or anywhere else we consider to be a vantage point.
