On the eve of the eighty-eighth anniversary of the Third World War, the world finally reconnects with one another. In the buildup a century in the making global internet has been re-established as well as general global communications following the limited nuclear exchanges of the early 2300s and the vast arsenals of biological weaponry that tore havoc across the strained ecosystems of the world.

Humanity wounded their world, and now they seek to twist the knife.

Within the ashes of a post-nuclear Earth, in a world where the tides have risen to swallow up shorelines and destroy entire swathes of continental land, where low and high-orbit warfare saw the skies plagued by debris that still choke any hope for mankind to reach the stars, and when each day could be a man's last - the last Great War still rages on across the planet.


HOI4: Ghosts of the Past is a post-WW3 mod set in the "Machina Mori" universe - a dark, futuristic world rife with Human pride and disgrace. This mod serves to expand upon the background of Humanity's rise to galactic hegemon. 2322 saw the world burn, and 2410 will see if Humanity can rise from the ashes, or sink lower - or, possibly even face extinction?

Mankind has spread across the solar system, and now watches Earth with bated breath - the actions of a few corrupt men on Earth have set up the world that GotP is here to show. Will you take the helm of NATO as the United States, champion the rights of the worker as China?
