The map for the UK #2 HC Wasteland server has been switched back to Malden. Just letting you guys know since several of you were asking for that.

Hey everyone, I wanted to put out a reminder that we will have a Chernarus HC Wasteland event on the UK #2 HC first-person Wasteland server today in a little over one hour, at 18:00 GMT (UK) / 21:00 Московское время / 1:00 p.m. Eastern U.S. time.

There are many who have been waiting for more Chernarus first-person action; now we have our chance, but it will require a few people to make the first leap in joining the server for others to follow. I would encourage you all to get on right at the event time or earlier, regardless of how many people are on at that moment. Try for a reasonable amount of time and it should result in many others joining soon after. We have many people who plan on coming, including a streamer on Twitch and YouTube.

Chernarus Wasteland requires mods, but don't worry, they're easy to download and install! The mods can be obtained through the Steam Workshop here; click “Subscribe” and they’ll download and install automatically. If any issues are encountered, you can also try the official Sa-Matra launcher here[a3cdn.com] as an alternative.

So let's all return to Chernarus one more time! There truly is nothing quite like using your favorite RHS/HLC guns while battling enemies in its forests, or taking out a BMP-2 with a one-shot disposable AT launcher. Following the switch to Malden, many of us have been wanting to revisit our beloved Chernarus map and its modded RHS weapons and vehicles in first-person HC Wasteland again. I'm happy to report that this Sunday, the 6th of August, for a one day event, the map on the UK #2 HC server will be switched back to Chernarus! There truly is nothing quite like using your favorite RHS/HLC guns while battling enemies in the forests of Chernarus, or taking out a BMP-2 with a one-shot disposable AT launcher. So whether you’re a veteran of Chernarus HC Wasteland or someone who has not yet tried it in Arma 3, I hope you’ll join us on Sunday for what is arguably the ultimate Wasteland experience. As usual, the formal start time will be at 18:00 GMT (UK) / 21:00 Московское время / 1:00 p.m. Eastern U.S. time, but many of us will begin getting on when the server restarts 2 hours prior to that. The earlier you join after restart, the better.

The nice folks who host the first-person Malden Wasteland server, CodeFourGaming, have asked me to let you all know about a new first-person King of the Hill server. The server’s name is “CodeFourGaming – King of the Hill Infantry EU #2 – HC”. It has all lock-on weapons disabled. Its IP is 188.165.240.170, and the port is 2502. CodeFourGaming, and RoidRage in particular, have been doing a lot to support first-person Wasteland and Sa-Matra’s development of Wasteland in general, so consider showing them support by checking out this new first-person KOTH server and/or donating.

Today we’re doing a public SPECIAL EVENT on the first-person server (UK #2 HC), so come join in on the fun! While you can play normally if you’d like, there will also be an optional special mission (base attack) going on with help from the admin. There will be two active player bases to attack/defend/capture, and good in-game rewards for those who participate. If HC Wasteland is important to you, please try to make it to today’s game, and try to bring all your friends to get big groups going.


At the beginning, one base will be manned by BLUFOR, and the other by OPFOR. Those teams will be provided with free decent gear, and I would encourage solo players or 2-man groups to join those teams (though please keep teams balanced/avoid stacking). Myself and my group will be split between those two teams.

At 19:30 GMT / 22:30 Московское время / 2:30 p.m. Eastern U.S. time, the base assaults will begin, with BLUFOR and OPFOR trying to capture each other’s bases, and powerful Independent groups also trying the same thing. Please avoid attacking before that time. After one hour passes (20:30 GMT), we will declare which teams or groups hold each base and provide rewards, and do it once more one hour later (21:30 GMT) to end the special mission.

Independent groups: Spend time gathering vehicles, launchers, and explosive charges before the mission starts! These will be the key to breaching the bases. Base parts are destructible (though they can be repaired), and each base has been designed so that it can be reasonably attacked from multiple directions and with various strategies.

This will be an intense special mission, possibly even stressful, but try to keep the right attitude and have fun. The purpose is simply to do something interesting and with an opportunity for higher-level tactics and strategy. Not everyone is going to win today, the odds will be stacked against you, but we’ll all at least get to experience big crazy battles and the type of exciting gameplay that should remind us all of the good old days from years ago. And if enough people come for this Sunday’s event, then in early August we can use the server for an HC event on Chernarus with mods.

Hey everyone, this announcement will cover a few important topics, so please give it a read when you can. We will be doing a special event this Sunday on the HC server, and Wasteland itself will have an update with new interesting features very soon. I’ll provide more details in a moment, but first I’ve been asked to discuss the important issue of server support with you all.


All the support from you guys for first-person Wasteland has been awesome. I’m nothing more than a fan who tries to organize games; it’s you guys who make it happen by joining. Playing on the HC server is only part of the support it needs though; it also requires some financial support, meaning donations. All Wasteland servers are funded in large part through donations. The first-person server for Sa-Matra Wasteland is hosted by CodeFourGaming, and a link to their donation page can be found here[codefourgaming.com]. I just donated myself, but I’m only one guy and servers aren’t cheap, so any funds you guys can pitch in would be greatly appreciated. Doing so is important for supporting the cause of first-person Wasteland. It’s all a group effort, and many of us have enjoyed countless hours of fun on this server.

If you use the “Donate without any reward” option on that website, or manually donate through PayPal to “donate@codefourgaming.com”, you can indicate your contribution is intended for the HC server. Furthermore, some of the donation will go directly to Sa-Matra himself, which encourages him in his development on Wasteland. You can indicate its purpose for supporting the HC server and specify the percentage you’d like to go to Sa-Matra either by leaving a note in your manual PayPal donation, or by donating through that website option and leaving RoidRage of CodeFourGaming a message about it on Discord[discord.gg].


Now for the exciting stuff! I hope you all will join us for an open special event on UK #2 HC Malden Wasteland this Sunday, the 23rd of July! Unlike prior “events” that were simply scheduled games, this time it’ll be a proper event where we will have assistance from the admin to do something exciting. There will be active player bases to attack as optional special objectives with good rewards, so try to bring all your friends to get big groups going. Many of us will be playing on BLUFOR and OPFOR, so whether you’re solo or have a small group, you’re welcome to join in on that. I (Kak) plan on trying to organize OPFOR, and GET TESTED will be trying to organize BLUFOR. But let’s try to keep the two teams balanced (avoid stacking one team). Specific details will be provided just before the event begins, though feel free to start sharing your thoughts or concerns now in the comments here. If enough people come for this Sunday’s event, then in early August we will use the server for an HC event on Chernarus with mods.

Need a group to play with, or is your group looking for more people? I started a new thread in the discussions section to help people group up. Playing with groups tends to keep people playing, so it would be great if everyone had one to play with.


A new Wasteland update should arrive very soon, possibly in the coming days. It is expected to include 2 new features: body dragging for revives, and a spectate camera for dead players to see the viewpoint of their friends (locked to first-person). They’re still ironing out some last minute bugs, but it’ll be great to see more “Wasteland 2.0” features rollout very soon.
