Alright, so to do a tryout, you first radio in some keywords, for example [GB TRYOUTS!] [US DB] [SCAR H] [Special Missions], basic stuff like that, then always remember to add 5 mins, 4 mins ,etc at the end to signify when you will start.

While in the DB hall, you tell them not to free look at any point. It is your choice if this is strikable, though I usually do this. Next you give them a rundown of what we do. This means telling them what the official name of GB is and what we expect from them, include other stuff if you really want.

Next you get them to double column behind you and double time them to the safehouse.

At the safehouse comes the elimination process. Be as strict as possible. Do faces with all of them, just the basics, then move onto individuals. I usually do things that end up with them either doing a 270 degree front face (the correct way if facing right) or 2 front faces, to see if they spin around.

Formations. Give them 10 seconds or less to do these. They need to be perfect, otherwise give those who messed it up a strike, but tell them what they did wrong first. This mistake could be as simple as not stripping you in a prisoner diamond, so go harsh on them, the reg is meant to be difficult to get in.

Phrases. Ask them to PM you phrases like KIA, WIA, Sitrep, 10-4, basically any advanced phrases. If they dont know them, give them a strike and tell them what it means after, but again, it is meant to be difficult.

Tell them those remaining that they passed the elimination process and move on.

The next test is 1-5 drill. As a PlatVIP (I probably shouldn't do this but it's not hurting anyone, plus admins have seen me do it anyway) I spawn in a shipping container and 3 targets for them (the shipping container prevents ricochet), this is simply to save time. Give them 3 attempts and take their best one, if they do it at like 1 target every 4 seconds, which hasn't happened, I would give them a strike and ask them to try again.

After this is the pistol drill, where you shoot the target then switch with the person behind you to reload. This is to test their teamwork and communication, if there is not enough candidates, get a GB to do it with them.

Next is simple trigger discipline. I set up a target and ask them to shoot 2 full mags into it while i obstruct it. If I am hit twice that's a strike, 3 times and they are out.

The last proper test is breaching. I explain what they have to do as if none of them have done it before, then see how they do with their group.

After this is a quick lesson on radios, then they are asked to relay a message using proper radio etiquette, simple stuff really.

So whoever is left has passed, but just to know if they really are enthusastic about it I ask them individual questions. The 3 I ask are "If Fudge (The colonel of GB) and Finn (Major General of US) were in a crash and you could save one, who would it be?" This is simply to see if they over think or anything. The next is "What do GB actually do?" Which is to see if they remember what I said at the start. "Why should I let you in over the others?" Is the last question, it is to see if they can express themselves and cope under pressure.

So after this, as mean as it sounds, I have to get rid of the weakest links if theres not enough space. If this is the case, during the question stage I ask who the candidate thought was the weakest team member, if they all say the same person then they are removed. If there is somehow still more than the amount needed, I use the answers i was given and discuss with the helpers who did bad and who did good.

FInally, you have maybe 1 or 2 people left, where you tell them they both failed. This is just to see if they get angry and RDM or something, but if they accept it you can tell them it was a test and they have passed. Give them a suitable rank and ask them to join the TS3 channel.

As a final thing, ask the rest of GB to make them feel welcome.
