As eternity beckons, we answer

The galaxy is ancient and eternal. It is in this eternal playground that empires rise and empires fall, wars are fought and alliances forged, stars are explored colonised and yes destroyed.

Gates of Eternity is an RP that aims to capture something of this vastness, this sense of exploration and of scale. The RP takes place in a fictional galaxy one where the first stellar empires are now starting to take to the skies.
Each real life hour represents 1 year in the tier.

Ultimately it is my hope that the tier becomes a dynamic and living galaxy, with stories developing from the interactions between players. New empires will have to be nice to their elders, all the while doing everything they can to catch up, large empires will have near endless resources but seek any method to overtake their own elders and co-empires.
Peaceful empires will grow wealthy over time, while warring empires will be forced to rely on their conquest to succeed.

• 1 hour in RL is 1 year in the RP, the minimum unit of time is also 1 hour, i.e all actions require at least one hour to complete.
  
• Movement,combat and construction of fleets take place hourly and are updated as such. That being said due to the regularity of this the exact locations and number of fleets will not necessarily be known by the admins at all times. A certain degree of honesty is expected from members in this regard.
  
• The tier takes a fundamentally free RP approach in regards to most things, i.e if it is reasonable that your empire could do something you can do it.
  
• The technology used is entirely up to you, one person can use star wars like technology and another star trek, or you could use your own version. However for fairness all tech is assumed to be roughly equal, only having minor differences in combat.
  
• The map is not a complete representation of every resource under your empires control, that would be impractical. What the map does show is major planets, interesting systems, rough galactic positions and controlled areas of space. Within your controlled area of space you have complete freedom to RP whatever you want.(within reason). As the galaxy grows and some systems become more important I will update the map accordingly.
