Battle of Raventree Hall

With Ser Brynden "Blackfish" Tully and Lord Tytos Blackwood agreeing to end the siege of Raventree Hall via single combat, their duel begun, although midway the duel was put to an end by Lord Jonos Bracken's cavalry attacking the Tully siege camp.

With the battle raging on, the Stark army arrived. It was bloody and brutal but eventually ended in yet another rebel victory when the Blackfish was slain in single combat by Lord Eddard Stark, lifting the siege of Raventree Hall and causing the remainder of the Tully-Whent force to route the battlefield.

The Kingsguard knight Ser Oswell Whent was also captured by Ser Martyn Cassel, and Lord Jason Mallister captured Ser Myles Mooton, one of Prince Rhaegar Targaryen's closest friends and former squires.

With the Stormlands united behind him following the battle at Summerhall, Lord Stannis Baratheon left his young brother Renly and Maester Cressen to hold Storm's End and advanced west to Ashford. Ashford, located within the Reach, is sworn to Highgarden and a loyalist holding. Stannis planned to take Ashford to secure the stormlands' western flank against the threat of the Tyrells and to outmaneuver Lord Randyll Tarly.

The battle occurred when the van of the Tyrell army under command of Lord Randyll Tarly and Lord Mace Tyrell ran into Lord Stannis Baratheon's forces. Despite being massively outnumbered, Lord Stannis gained his second victory.

During the battle, Lord Randyll Tarly was slain by Ser Cortnay Penrose, and Lords Tyrell and Baratheon clashed in single combat, with Mace Tyrell being slain by Stannis Baratheon.

The Tyrell van fled the field. However, faced with the large numbers of the main Tyrell force, Stannis has had no choice but to withdraw from the south and attempt to link up with his allies in the north. To this end, he has force-marched his troops north towards the riverlands.

The twelve year old Willas Tyrell is now the Lord of Highgarden and Warden of The South.

Fortunately for House Tyrell, despite Lord Randyll Tarly having no heir, Lady Melessa Florent, Randyll's widow, has declared that she is pregnant and is praying daily for a healthy and successful birth.
