Welcome to FORSAKEN FOREST 4.0 (Dedicated, Endless, DST Server)

The 4th iteration of Forsaken Forest includes indestructible locked storage cellars, wall gates, never-perish iceboxes, cave content, tungsten metal, personal islands, regeneration, and bananas. The world is large with plenty of resources and lots of interesting places to build (both on and off the mainland).

Rock depletion should not be a problem here, but be wary of building to close to asteroid fields. Spontaneous combustion & gobblers have been disabled so feel to turn your personal islands into massive berry farms. Forsaken Forest does not include overly OP or glow in the dark characters, but mod toons that offer subtle powers/items &/or great artwork. Feel free to switch characters by whispering #restart (be sure to drop your stuff first / ownership will persist).

The mods have been tested/vetted and should provide a relatively stable DST experience. The server will also be saved/rebooted multiple times each week to ensure mods are up-to-date and to ensure smooth performance. As in the past the goal will be to run this world well past 1000 days, while keeping the world stocked and accessible to new players.

Forsaken Forest Offshoot Server

I wanted to clarify the current status of the FF server and expand on my previous post.. I have recieved a number of comments from friends in this small steam group expressing interest in contining to play. The group enjoys the mods we are using and the group of players that have been active on FF.

My Situation:
Monday I'm starting a new sales job w/ responsible for ~$1M/month in sales. As a result I expect my available to play DST will be limited for some time. I very much enjoy managing FF but I will not have time to invest in admin/server maintenance for the next few months.

Ksmerryman:
KS has a computer science background, has expressed interested in, and indicated she has time right now to help manage / admin a FF server. Last night as we discusssed this possiblity in Steam, KS rented a dual server hosting enviroment from Citadel. I've offered to share my world & mod configuration files, etc. and enable KS to link her Forsaken Forest offshoot server to this Steam Group.

I have made KS a moderator of this group and over the next few days will be working with her to transfer whatever configuration & knowledge I have to help her setup a Forsaken Forest offshoot server for the benefit of this group of players!

FF4.0 Offline (Caves Update)

The caves update has (as expected) caused issues. Particularly it seems with the caves mods & advanced worldgen stuff. So I've shut the server down.

I plan to take a break from DST this week. If next week FF4 can be launched with minimal administration I will do so. If FF4 can not be salvaged easily, it will be at least a month or two before I attempt to launch a FF5.0.
