1v1 Aggressive Strats BY _-DarkLegion-_
I play the same as in Supcom 1 --the tech 1 ending. Zerg rush. Call it what you want.

In 1v1's on small to medium maps I try to have it over by the 7 minute mark. What I can't decide on, however, is the tech tree.

I tend to save my early points until I have radar up to see if the enemy is going heavy air or turrets (then helllooooo missile launchers). If he's going land I'm torn between upgrading my tanks or opening up the assault bot. With no research stations I can have the bots available after only about 5 tanks are out.

I can't see stats on the bot other than health, in which they seem to have about 10% less than the tank. Their mobility doesn't seem much higher and I suppose the huge deal is knowing what their damage is. I use ACU as my frontline damage shield so damage is more important to me than survivability, but what I"m not sure on is if the points were better spent in damage upgrades and sticking to tanks or even a few ACU buffs.

What are your thoughts? Do you like bots or tanks for early game? If you're using ACU as a ramrod will you upgrade it instead of your land forces? In 5-8 minute length game strategies is a research station worth the resources to you?

p.s. I'm heavily considering getting my ACU to hunker for some micromanagement edge, but mainly to get survival if the enemy ACU hugs me for a nuke when I'm at 30% life.
