Chapter 1
Ella sighed as she opened the door to her house. The moonlight being the only thing lighting up the otherwise dark street.
Being home late is already bad enough. Being home late for a party however, may not exactly give her an advantage to the argument she's going to have with her mother in the morning.
She creeps in slowly on her high heels.
Gods, Mom is so gonna kill me in the morning. She thought to herself sourly.
She took off her high heel shoes and crept up the staircase, holding her handbag tightly in case she might accidentally drop it.
The hallway was dark, and she wouldn't- no, couldn't risk waking up her mom at this hour.
Ella managed to sneak into her room and let out a breath she didn't realise she was holding.
She put her designer handbag on the night table and undid the braid in her hair, letting her long curly brown and black hair flow freely.
She sighed as she laid down on the bed and closed her eyes. Smiling as she remembered how amazing the party was at her friend's Vinz's house was.
She closed her eyes and covered herself with the blanket. Feeling the warmth of the blanket and wave of exhaustion that hit her, she fell asleep almost instantly.

“That is the last time you are ever going out again young lady!” her mother screeched.
“Oh my god mom, It was just one party!” she yelled back.
Great, she thought, this is going so well right now.
“I swear to god, if anything happens like this again. You are getting grounded for three months. And in fact, your grounded for two weeks.” her mother said sternly.
She groaned and walked up the stairs and headed to her room.
Why do the gods hate her so much?
She walked into the room and slammed the door behind her.
Ella landed on the bed belly down and took out her phone.
What am I suppose to do now? Go and conjure something up to do?
She stared at the screen of her phone bitterly, looking for someone to talk to.
I haven't talked to Nicole for a while, then again she did embarrass me in front of practically the whole school.
She hugged her pillow tightly and groaned. It was so infuriating to have nothing to do.
Ella heard a soft tweet come from her phone.
I wonder who messaged me she thought as she picked up her phone.
She swiped left on her phone to view the message.
It was from Aisha, her friend from college.

Aisha: Hey Ella, It's me Aisha. I wondered if we could meet up later.

Ella smiled and started typing back to her friend.

Ella: Sure, but I'm grounded for sneaking out last night. Care to help?

Aisha: Ok, I'll pick you up. How about coffee at that Café you like?

Ella sighed dreamily, if there's one thing she's willing to run away for. It would be coffee at her favourite café.

Ella: Heck yea, coffee at Café Espresso would be awesome.

Aisha: I'll pick you up in 10 minutes.
