Due to the size of the Empire (amount of members), I, Emperor of Scandinavia, Ian Guequierre, have decided to remain an absolute monarchy until Scandinavia can spread His wings and shake the world. Therefore, ministry positions will be given away to the most active members. However, nobility titles must be achieved by hard labour (activity). A lot must still happen, therefore we need men of all sorts. Men that can fight and speech. So, enlist and serve Scandinavia today!

After the Revolution in France, the Scandinavian monarchs were afraid of both revolution within their own realms and the major uprising super powers, like Prussia. At the time, the Queen of Sweden had died of an illness, and the King of Denmark was assassinated by Norwegian nationalists. As Prussia rose, the Danish Queen grew more and more afraid of them creating total chaos in Denmark, and hence they signed the Treaty of Gothenburg. The Swedish Monarch, Ian Guequierre, who came up with the Treaty, feared revolution and wanted to secure both His and Sweden’s future.

The Treaty of Gothenburg
The Treaty of Gothenburg was a unification treaty between Sweden and Denmark-Norway where both nations agreed to become one, in order to stand against the other major European super powers of that time. The following was agreed by both Monarchs:

• The surname of the Imperial Family will be: “Guequierre”.
• Ian Guequierre, the current King of Sweden, will be crowned Emperor of Scandinavia.
• Eilleen Guequierre, the current Queen of Denmark, will be crowned Empress of Scandinavia.
• The ruling Emperor and Empress must come from both Houses.
• The Crown Prince title will be renamed to: the “Prince of Denmark-Norway”.

• The Empire will be a Unitary Constitutional Monarchy under the ruling Monarch.
• The Capital will be Gothenburg, due to its central location and population.
• All three languages (Danish, Norwegian and Swedish) will be taught in schools.
• All citizens of the Empire must refer to themselves as Scandinavians, but may specify.
