Whether it be collecting salvage in haunted, space ruins, eliminating trace amounts of grime with a pressurized hose, or juggling between sussing out a killer or finishing up your grunt duties, there's always a worker in us ready to give our sweat and tears (and sometimes blood).

Dependable, Expendable, Replaceable (DEP/EXP/REP) catalogs games utilizing hyper-specific criteria:

- Our characters are employed or conscripted by a company or government, preferably one that is nebulous and unseen.

- Our characters are physically anonymous, by way of a mask, helmet, or suit obscuring our faces and body that leaves us ambiguous to each other, both in race, and gender.

- Our work in-game is dangerous and/our amounts to grueling labor, without any substantial assistance other than from our fellow colleagues. The end goal of our endeavors may be unknown to us.

- Our employers have the means to replace us almost instantaneously in the event of our injury, death, or disappearance, and will not make any efforts to either rescue us, or retrieve our bodies.

Games that fall under DEP-EXP-REP do not to meet all criteria.

[Example] PowerWash Simulator sees us being self-employed, but we are still physically ambiguous by way of full, rubber suit. Additionally, our jobs are chore work.

[Example] Deep Rock Galactic shows our faces and bodies to each other, but our work is deadly, and we are replaceable.
