ABOUT BaitendDown

BaitendDown - Wasn't worth it

BaitendDown is a Swedish blackened death metal band formed in 1989 by drummer Fin Landstråm and now-deceased guitarist Jonas Banho. It is believed that the band named themselves after a fisherman's song from medieval times. The pair played with a 'revolving door' line-up of musicians until the permanent addition of bassist Thomas Bold. This addition occurred prior to recording their debut 7" Single, "Why did i", in early 1992.

With this line up and the addition of Sven Gorbat on vocals who replaced John Gullicton (who had sung on the "Nobody there" and "Died for nothing" EP) the band entered LongA Studio in March 1993 and recorded the debut "Wasn't worth it" album. The band had previously worked with the Prefire label and store for its singles.

Following the addition of second guitarist Goron Rekjk, BaitendDown released a four-song extended play, "Didn't see him", in 1996. This was a teaser for the full-length release, "Where was he", which came out later that same year. This album featured a guest appearance by Cal Sorvist of on the song "There is blood behind". "Did you hit him?" was released in fall 2000 through Spray-Productions. A switch to LegShotRecords led to "lit for 80". In 2006, BaitendDown released "Left Corner" and "I mean right" was issued in May 2009 and won the title of the Album Of The Month on cmetalsgo .com. This album was the band's second for Spray-Productions. BaitendDown also released "Just hit him once" on WTF-Records, which is a compilation of their early material.
In 2017 they released there comeback album "BaitendDowner Übertragung" which was a huge success espacially in Russia and Sweden.

The lyrics generally tend to revolve around darkness, evil, anti-Christianity and Viking mythology.
