"Always Ready, Always There!"

The National Guard of the United States is a reserve military force, composed of National Guard military members or units of each state. The National Guard on BLRP is under control of the Governor. Members of the National Guard also have civillian jobs, and are called to duty based on criteria set in the National Guard Rules of Conduct.

When called to action, the National Guard has three key objectives:
#1: Protecting the Citizens of Chef County.
#2: Ending crime sprees by gangs or rogue Police.
#3: Enforcing curfews, checkpoints, and seizing contrabrand.

The National Guard will hold regular training exercises as well.
Unless called upon, National Guard members may roleplay as civs.
You must switch back to the National Guard group if on duty.
Recruitment goes through the Governor and the General.

I've become aware of an increasing rise in complaints. Mostly regarding pay, lack of recognition, that sort of thing. Allow me to set the record straight. As a student, I have many responsibilities. On top of that, I have a few other things that I do outside of Bootleg RP, and Unturned in general. Not to get personal with you, I know you'll still be angry with me. I fully intend to pay all serving members of the National Guard, for present and future continued service. I have no intention of paying men for pestering me into oblivion asking me for pay that they, from my point of view, did not earn. The payrolls are being lowered from what the previous General O'Higgins changed them to, in order to accomodate for the resources I need to purchase to sustain soldiers, needs, equipment, lost equipment, redundant equipment... The point is that I'm running on a budget. If you don't appreciate the fact that I'm working my ass off, you can resign. And I know a great number of you have threatened to resign. So I suggest you make your decision here and now, before things get even more complicated. The National Guard is being reformed according to the flaws and faults in the leadership of the previous office-holders, and will soon be fully operational, under the most efficient work my newly promoted Captain and I can do.

Forms of Duty; Active vs. Reserve

In response to an evident confusion, and every Guardsman being under the impression that NG is a side-job, I've deemed it necessary to clarify this for applicants and current Guardsmen alike, as well as add a field in the application format regarding which type of duty you're applying for. Without further delay, the difference between Active and Reservist Guradsmen, cited directly from my National Guard Handbook project;

Active Duty

The job of an Active Duty Guardsman is to act as a full-fledged soldier in the Guard, and to serve full-time on the Depot. An Active Duty Guardsman is subject to all the rules and regulations that come with living on-base, which is to say that they are subject to the rules and regulations that would be placed upon an armyman on-base in another country, or some other comparison one might draw of the nature. They are constantly considered on-duty, but that is not to say that they can act on National Guard authority off-base without permission, much like a Reservist. The life of an active-duty Guardsman is that of a man who wants to dedicate his everyday life to the cause.

Reserve Duty

The job of a Reservist Guardsman is to act on National Guard authority when called upon. They are not bound to live on-base, and are considered civilians unless activated by the criteria stated in the Rules of Conduct doctrine. A Reservist Guardsman cannot attain the rank of an officer, making their highest attainable title Sergeant. A Reservist may appeal an officer to transfer him to Active Duty, if he decides to dedicate himself.
