Welcome to Baldur's Gate!

This group is a hub for starting multiplayer games on Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition. Here you can trade information with other players so that it will be easier to find a group to play multiplayer with.

I do recommend that everyone join the group chat whenever you are logged on so that if anyone is looking for a game it'll be much easier!

I also plan on posting tutorials for creating characters, using Hamachi, and general tips for playing Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition. If you have a suggestion for one I should make, let me know (or make one yourself)!

Please make use of our chat rooms and the comments section! Whenever I am at my computer I, CannonFodderM21, will be in the chat room if you need anything!

Public Servers On Hamachi

Hey everyone! I decided to open up 13 networks that can be utilized by anyone using Hamachi.

To utilize these networks, you would log onto Hamachi and press Network > Join an existing network, and then enter one of the network names listed below, and then the Public password. If you reserve a Private networks with me I will send you a password that changes every reservation for the Private networks you pick.

Public networks will all have the same password, and they're for anyone who just wants somebody random to play with. You can also play by yourself and wait for someone to join. If you use one of the Public networks to create a game, please checkmark "Listen to join requests" in the Permissions tab of the game lobby so others can join during your game.

Private networks will be password protected for the people that reserve them. If you would like to reserve a network please just message me at least 1 day in advance so I can let you know if it's available or not.

Original networks will all have the same password, and they're for those that are playing on the original Baldur's Gate. You can also play by yourself and wait for someone to join. If you use one of the Original networks to create a game, please checkmark "Listen to join requests" in the Permissions tab of the game lobby so others can join during your game. Uses the public password.

Roleplay networks will all have the same password, and they're for those who would like to roleplay their character throughout their journey through Sword Coast. You can also play by yourself and wait for someone to join. If you use one of the Roleplay networks to create a game, please checkmark "Listen to join requests" in the Permissions tab of the game lobby so others can join during your game. Uses the public password.

The Tutorial network is for teaching anyone that is new to Hamachi how to connect to a multiplayer network. Uses the public password.

Unforunately since I have to be in each network to keep them open, each group will be limited to a size of 4 players. You will also have to reenter the network information whenever you rejoin because you will need to leave the
network after finishing your game to free room for other players.

If you are sitting in a room and are logged out for longer than 5 minutes, I will boot you from the network to free space.

RULE:
If you join any public network (including Public, Original, Roleplay, and Tutorial) and are rude, steal items, troll other players, or anything else I deem punishable and someone reports it to me you will be kicked from the network. If you keep repeating this behavior I may be forced to kick you from AotSC. I will not perform any disciplinary actions on anyone involved in disputes that occur on Private networks.

How To Use Hamachi

Hello adventurers! I've decided to start basic tutorials to make playing multiplayer much easier for everyone!

Most of you know that the easiest way to play multiplayer on Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is using Hamachi, but for those of you don't (or just don't know how to use it) here is a quick and easy to understand tutorial. Let's begin.

First of all, you'll need to download Hamachi. Here's a link:

Now you're going to need to create an account! I'm not going to walk you through that, it is pretty self-explanatory.

Second of all, you'll either need to create or join a network. I will walk you through both.

--Creating a Network--

So you want to start up a multiplayer game of Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition eh? It's very easy using Hamachi, and I'll barely even have to walk you through it.

First things first, let's get that network created.

On Hamachi you will click Network > Create a new network

After that a window should pop up that says "Create a new client-owned (?) network". What you will want to do is type in a Network ID and then the password. Easy right?

After that you're going to need to have people join your network, but I'll save that for the next section. Now for people to actually be able to join your network using a TCP/IP address all you need to do is right click the name you set for yourself and press "Copy IPv4 address"

Paste that into a chat that you should have open with the other players and they'll be able to use that in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition as the IP address.

That's it! You've successfully hosted a game.

--Joining a Network--

Just as easy as creating a network.. maybe slightly easier.

Press Network > Join an existing network

Type in the name of the network and the password.

Now to join the host's game you can either let him send you the IPv4 address (walkthrough is in Creating a Network) or you can just right-click his name and press "Copy IPv4 address" paste that into a chat (since you can not copy-paste directly into Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition) and then just type that into Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition when it asks you for the IP address.

I've only had one experience where a person was not able to join my game via Hamachi. If for some reason someone can't join your game, right-click their name in Hamachi and press "Ping". If the Ping is not going through, your computers are unable to directly connect to eachother, I'm not to sure why that is or how to fix it, but for me it randomly started working a few days later.
