Operation Arctic Fox

History of Chernarus
Following its dissolution at the end of the Cold War, Chernarus was among one of the many former client states of the Soviet Union that gained their independence in 1991.
Chernarus was accepted as a member of the United Nations and began to seek closer ties with the West, while retaining amicable relations with the new Russian Federation that had emerged from the ashes of the Soviet Union.

September Crisis
Discontent with the Chernarussian government's initiative to align itself with the West, a political faction originating out of the South Zagoria region (known as the Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star or ChDKZ for short) began to form in protest. The group gathered much traction and support with the northern, pro-Russian minority, eventually gathering enough numbers to transition into a fighting force. Anti-government protests and uprisings slowly spread throughout the province, though most are quickly subjugated by security forces.
In an incident called the "September Crisis" in 2009, the ChDKZ launched a full-scale province-wide attack against government forces. Almost all coastal cities in South Zagoria fall under the organisation's control, from harbours, trade routes, and even government centres and military bases. Coordinated by three warlords, the offensive is highly successful and overrun much of the province, with government troops being forced into a full retreat.
During a raid on the regional capital of Chernogorsk, the incumbent Prime Minister of Chernarus is captured and held hostage by the leader of the group. The ChDKZ demanded the integration of Chernarus into the Russian Federation but is refused by Moscow. The Chernarussian PM is executed in "retaliation", and the ChDKZ leader declares the nation to become the so-called "Chernarussian Socialist Republic".
Part of the standing Chernarussian government manages to flee from the country and goes into exile, insisting that they are the only legitimate representatives of the nation while calling on Western countries for assistance.
U.S.-led forces are authorised to intervene on the Chernarussian government's behalf and liberate the region from ChDKZ control. Though the intervention ran into several roadblocks along the way (including a temporary withdrawal at the demand of the Russian government), the United States is able to help the Chernarussian government reclaim control over the occupied province after almost a month. The insurgency group's leader is ultimately captured and its power base is permanently crippled.


Current Day, December 2019.
Ten years have past since the troubles with the ChDKZ. in this time the country has flourished with help from multiple countries, with the US and France both aiding with the stability and training of the countries small Defence Force. The Chernarussian Defense Force (CDF) has grown slowly into a much more modern fighting forces, including Humvees and patrol vehicles in the latest Military trade agreements, but in 2017 rumbles started to emerge about the ChDKZ attempting to reform..Special Forces of the CDF where sent in to locate and capture personal involved in this so called “re-emergence” their missions was successful and the Chernarus Prime Minister announced to the populace that anyone aiding or attempting to rebuild the ChDKZ would be met with swift military intervention. With the threat seeming like nothing more then a small cell, the PM switched his attention to other duties quietly confident that the ChDKZ are no-more.

In 2018 the Prime Minister and deputy Prime Minister were killed in a deadly ambush while on route to a speech, ChDKZ Claimed responsibility for the attack and addressed all the Loyalists that wished to see the reunification with Russia to rise up and take power, they also boasted unlike their forefathers, this time Russia had their back. Russia has denied this statement and says they do not condone terrorists.

Early 2019 saw martial law declared by the Chernarus Government and CDF on the streets, Protests against the CDF and Martial law erupted, the country spiralled massively, Civilians clashed against police and CDF. All the while the ChDKZ attacked and ambushed military convoys, targeted members of the Government and caused complete chaos, Chernarus once again has turned into a country scared to leave their houses, with a Government in full decline and Civil War on the way..


Deployment of the French Foreign Legion
With France being a longtime supporter and ally to the people of Chernarus, when the Chernarus Government asked them for aid, it wasn’t long before an agreement was made and France decided to re-deploy elements of the French Foreign Legion, Many still question the decision to send the Legion, rather then Army, the Legion is much more suited to combat in the harsh deserts and bushland of Africa, not the dense forests of a Baltic State. Some wonder quietly to themselves if the Legion has been sent because the risk of Chernarus Collapsing is too high. But then again the Legion are the Premier counter insurgency troops of France.

With the Legion being deployed so rapidly in an attempt to stabilize the country, many regiments find themselves lacking transport and equipment, relying heavily on the CDF to assist in movements and logistics, causing problems throughout.

Currently 2e REP and 13e DBLE are tasked with routing out the source of the rebels, focusing on enemy leadership, weaponry and equipment in the hope of ending the conflict quickly.

Many of the Skirmishes with the ChDKZ forces have shown that unlike a normal insurgency force, they are well trained and understand military tactics, too well trained for a pop-up rebel force. Politically France is putting pressure on Russia, due to the events that happened in the Ukraine not to long ago and the current stance of NATO, Some must wonder if and how the Russians may be involved.

Operation Oryx
“Mogadishu - Somalia”
2e REP GCP is being deployed to Mogadishu, Somalia.
To assist in the on-going stabilization mission, between the African Union and French Foreign Legion. After the events of the US Forces back in 1993, Mogadishu, once a bustling capital city was reduced to high levels of poverty and famine, when the UN Forces left in 2003, they left the country in a downward spiral, with corrupt officials stepping in and starving their open people for their own gains.

In 2007, African Union forces lead by Kenya, said enough is enough and sent troops in to attempt to stabilize the country. At first the mission was successful.

In 2008, Al-Shabaab declared full out war on any and all foreign troops, Casualties started rocketing, suicide and IED attacks increased massively, 2009 and AU Forces had lost control of the Capitol, Mogadishu. Once again the city was war torn and destroyed.

Few months later and the capitol was retaken by the AU and repairs once again started.
They continued keeping control of Mogadishu and surrounding regions until 2014, when Al-Qaeda joined forces with Al-Shabaab & Hizbul Islam, Fighters started pouring in from other
African countries and the AU found themselves in all out war again…

With AU Forces struggling to remain in control a plea went out to the Global Communities for support, The United Kingdom sent more training personal to kenya, to train Kenyan Troops.
The US Chipped in with some IED Protected Vehicles. But it was France that answered the Call, already having a French Embassy in Mogadishu and Legionnaire’s stationed their to protect it.
In a Clash between AU and Militants, the Embassy had come under fire and a Legionnaire had been killed, under pressure from the French populous back home, the French Government decided to send in the Elite, 2e REP of the French Foreign Legion.



2e REP - GCP is tasked with disrupting and dismantling the ongoing insurgency.
Targeting in this order:
a) Enemy Leadership.
b) Enemy Strongholds.
c) Prevent IED Strikes and Suicide Attacks.
d) Denying Positions
e) Denying Supplies

The Majority of the enemy forces are built up of Militant’s and Jihadists
.Al-Shabaab & Hizbul Islam command the bulk of the forces, Hizbul Islam fighters
Are well known to wear suicide vests while fighting and if captured/Injured will Detonate their suicide vests, Somali and AU Forces have lost a multitude of vehicles which have in-turn been captured by enemy forces, don’t be surprised to see a brand new American Patrol Vech manned by enemy fighters and engaging us.


Mogadishu is a complete cluster-♥♥♥♥ of civilians, AU and Enemy Militants, when fighting breaks out, most civilians rush into their homes and hide, but with the general upset over the years of conflict, many civilians have taken to arming themselves and shooting both at AU, French and Militant forces.



All AU Forces will be wearing bright green helmets that say “AU” on them, their vechs will also be marked by Flags.

If a Civilian picks up a weapon he instantly becomes a combatant, the Legion doesn’t take risks.
Armed? Shoot him.

IEDS are at an all time high and a massive threat, our Demolitions qualified troops
Will need to change to a full EOD kit and be prepared to deal with complicated multi-IED threats.

Al-Shabaab have no regard for life and are happy forces civilians to make human shields when fighting AU troops in the past.

Op Oshee is based on the scenario of what if Russia did invade and NATO had to respond? Our scenario takes place shortly after war is declared, russian forces have pushed into Latvia and all but taken over the country, effectively annexing Estonia from mainland Europe. In a bold move russia has rushed forward the 58th Combined Arms Army, Straight into Lithuania… this is where our campaign starts, with the 58th CAA opening fire on Lithuanian and German troops on the border. NATO Rukla, the NATO Battlegroup stationed in Lithuania responds with immediate QRF.


We plan to start the Operation in 2020, at the start of the invasion.
With this being conventional warfare against a well trained and equipped opponent, anything that’s inside the 58th CAA, may be deployed and used against us throughout the Joint Operation, our main tasking is to halt the russian advance and push them back to the Lithuanian Border.

At the onset of the first mission we will be stationed at NATO Base Tapa, information will come over net, that russia forces have engaged and pushed through the border.

We need to be prepared to deal with armoured vechs, mechanized elements and enemy infantry, this campaign will be unlike any we have played before at 2eREP, with each mission being carefully crafted to simulate as close as possible to the real thing, within reason.


Joint Training - 10th February. (Subject to change)
We will commence a Joint Training to make sure we have a clear understanding of how communications are going to work, how our units operate currently and work together to create a simple system for the event night.

This training will cover -
• Communications between elements.
• Overview of tactics, while fighting in a large convoy with different vechs.
Ie: How the each element will operate, how the mounted infantry will operate, who goes where and does what in the face of contact.
• Overview of each elements role, infantry tactics used by both elements, etc.
• Calling in CAS/Artillery
• Friendly Unit V Unit PvP

Deployment Date - 17th February - Sunday
On the 19th of February the Deployment will start, All attending personal are expected to have there kit assembled and ready by 19:00, Briefing will start dead on 19:00. This includes prepping your vechs during the brief each element will be broken down and explained their role/tasking for the evening.

As we continue the deployment, any suggestions or ideas for missions, go ahead and shout them out.

Situation
Today is the 20th of March 2020 at approximately 02:30 UTC Russian troops crossed the border into lithuania.
15,000 NATO troops have been staged in Lithuania and prepared to confront the russia threat. At 05:33 local time coalition airstrikes began all across known russian positions targeting Military command and control installations and Anti aircraft installations.

Now, we move out to intercept the russians and begin this Campaign.

Mission
Our main objective is to halt the russians rapid advance through Lithuania, to destroy any and all enemy combat elements and to push them back to the border, if this tasking becomes impossible our task will be to hold our ground and keep the capital under lithuanian control, until NATO Reinforcements arrive. at the same time minimising civilian losses and damage to cities, towns and civilian infrastructure.



Intel
At this time intel is very limited, We know a large russian force attacked and crossed the border, identified as the 58th CAA, this element consists of armoured and mechanized elements, with mechanized AA.

Enemy Force
The Russian forces consist of roughly 30,000 troops, lead by the 58th CAA, they are equipped with the latest russian weaponry and equipment and highly trained. Deploying the new T-14 Armata tank, mixed in with old school russian, T-72’s and BTRs,




19th Motor Rifle Division & 42th Motor Rifle Division
Make up the bulk of the enemy forces, these troops are reasonably trained and equipped with the latest russian weaponry and vehicles. AK-12’s, Pecheneg and effective AT & AA. they should not be underestimated.


136th Guards Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade
What could be called the “Elite” infantry, They are well disciplined and well trained, a dangerous enemy that has been combat tested on multiple occasions. They have high morale and will fight to last.
