Welcome to the 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards!

We are a milsim community which simulates a British Light Cavalry Troop in the Cold War and 1990s. We emphasise small unit tactics and recconaisance in a range of different environments requiring us both to be effective dismounted and mounted. The role of the light cavalry is typically to find, understand and disrupt the enemy. This typically occurs through raids, establishing observation posts and calling for artillery and close air support and through Ambushes.

Our primary vehicle is the Land Rover WMIK FFR. All troopers are required to be competent driver's and gunners in the mounted role and competent marksmen and AT gunners when dismounted. We aim to be self sufficient as in a conventional environment the Light Cavalry aims to be functioning behind the enemy frontline where support from friendly forces is typically impossible.

As a community we encourage and support the development of our members in learning how to lead, learning how to administrate and how to create scenarios. We also emphasise a cohesive community of friends and encourage our members to play a range of games together inorder to build trust and strong bonds.

If you wish to join or find out more hop onto our TS and speak to one of our members or add one of the community admins here on steam (denoted by the gold star in the members tab). Our process for recruitment starts with the applicant stating thier interest in person or on discord. Then the applicant will be invited to interview. On a successful interview you will be invited to attend a community induction and Phase 1 training (usually lasts about an hour and a half).
