There is barely a game in there. I enjoy the Gwent card game, so I thought I would give this "game" a try (also, it keeps saying I would get bonus cards, which I did, but it's not worth it), but after 15 minutes, I only had one match (and it wasn't a real one). The game keeps wanting to tell you its dumb girl boss story and you have to press and hold to skip, but you have to do that like 5 times every time there is a bit more of this story unveiled. Then, you have to slowly walk on a map to the next piece of story that I literally can't skip fast enough. Oh, and sometime, there are some resource you can gather... again, click and hold. Damn! They were really desperate to lengthen that non-game!
Just make a movie and stop wasting people time. Or make a game but make sure that there is actual gameplay in it!

Thronebreaker is a great way to either get into the game of Gwent found in The Witcher 3 or master Gwent. Thronebreaker is the first deck-building game I've tried, and I was pleasantly surprised with how differing decks can influence the gameplay so much! I love the art style in the game, and the music is great too. For people who are new to the genre or wanting a bit more of The Witcher lore, I highly recommend Thronebreaker!

Way better than expected, glad I found this on sale. This was my first Witcher game; you needn't have played the other games in the series to enjoy this.

I'm normally not a deckbuilder enjoyer, but I found Gwent to be a fun and unique form of PvE turn-based combat. Worth checking out if you're bored with, or never liked, the roguelite components of other deckbuilders.

+ Good voice acting and storyline.
+ Choices matter.
+ Puzzles are distinct from 'regular' battles; the monsters have a puzzle piece over their head. Every review section for turn-based squad and tactics games has debates about "puzzles vs. strategy" so it's cool the devs just made them separate.
+ You can change the difficulty at any time.
+ Really cool graphics. I prefer this style to plastic-y "realism" and janky cut scenes.

- Can't save deck builds, you have to manually swap out cards.
- Card descriptions can be confusing.
