I'm not familiar with the tabletop version, so I have to ask. Is there a campaign, dynamic or otherwise, or is it just a set of stand-alone battles?

Last official announcement from the devs was last august https://steamproxy.net/app/965620/eventcomments/4794664409783017426/ I have not seen them respond to messages or support requests while they are active for other of their games... Hence the title: Abandoned or Dead Game?...

Right now the map feels way too small and may fights end early as a move just goes over these artificial edges. I'd be happy with an option to size the map and also set start locations of the aircraft.
