HI just tried to play CC LSA and only get a small window tried adjusting Resolution but makes no difference any ideas??

I can't do anything for Multiplayer. Clicking "Host Game" pops up something for about a millisecond, and a voice says, "Waiting for Connection". Clicking "Search Games" does similar. I've setup port forwarding on my router. My friend has a GoG version of this game, and when he clicks "Host Game" it actually starts hosting a game, he can pick a battle etc.. Something is wrong with the Steam version....
